Another thought: Years ago, I opted out of ebay "reminders" about bidding, watching, outbids, etc. If that option is still available, you might want to go that route; maybe that will solve this problem.

I put up with it in order to get eBay bucks.

I never get them on my buying account, where I look at dozens of listings every day. On my selling account, should I accidentally click a listing, my e-mail is immediattely bombarded by this spam. For the love of me, I do not understand why it happens, whether it is something in the settings or because of different ebay internal setting for my accounts.

I just let them send whatever they want to. Just a simple click to delete. Many other things in life that annoy me.
Adjust my message preferences, and next thing I know I won't even know when I've sold something

I must say, though, that Ebay sends much less email than spAmazon.
Yes, I get some of this from eBay too and a lot from Amazon and many other sites! Seems to be the new thing now. We have no privacy and are tracked continuously, and now we read Amazon wants to make deliveries INTO our homes when we're not there to accept them. What is the world coming to. Thank heaven eBay is not one of the worst offenders of this. At least, not yet.
And I direct all of this into one of my minor email accounts too, which is where I try to keep the junk from clogging up my main friends and family email account.
