Anyone else having difficulty with their templates, description boxes, etc?

I usually copy and paste my descriptions from word files.  Today was the first time in 5 days I have tried to list an auction and I like my descriptions to be in bold print.  But when I open the preview, it is in faint characters and almost unreadable.  So I call one of eBay's foreign tech support.  When they open the preview, it is messed up on their end also and they are unable to create bold text in the preview.  I deleted my template and started over from scratch to try and see if that works, the description box is completely unusable now and can't even get a cursor to show up so I can type.  Evidently eBay has changed the programming and has created glitches.  Tech support said they are going to look into it, meanwhile, I can't list anything at all.  Anyone else experiencing glitches?

I don't know about the description box or templates, but the Preview box has been messed up for 5-6 days.  Undoubtedly eBay is "improving" it.

After seeing strange things in the Preview box, I listed an item anyway.  When I checked the active listing, it looked fine.  I'm ignoring the Preview box until I hear that eBay has fixed this glitch.

Description box has been glitching for me as well. Preview box doesn't even work for me currently, just brings me back to my active listings when clicked. Figured they were working on it like mentioned above. Not a big deal, I go back in and check it to ensure it was up and looked okay.

Re: Anyone else having difficulty with their templates, description boxes, etc?

I always create a new listing via "sell similar" so my template remains intact. I write all copy in Notepad and then modify the template via the HTML tab.

Word documents tend not to play nice with HTML. Plain text in Notepad works fine. It's very simple to add the necessary HTML to indicate font face, color, size and so on.

<B> = bold
</B> = end bold

Thank you for your reply "tealt".  If I can get the description box to open up so I can type, I might try to list it anyway, since you said your text appeared normal in the listing, even though the preview wasn't accurate.

Thanks JMC.  I will go try to list anyway, if I can get the description box to open up with a cursor.

Yes I have been trying "sell similar" also, but the preview text remains messed up and doesn't display the original font.  Also, now, the description box is completely whited out so a cursor won't even show up for you to type.

I no longer use the preview, haven't for several years. What I do is start the listing in a few days and then open up the listing. I'm usually fairly confident of what the new listing will look like as I do "Sell Similar".

Yes.  Today the formatting was not showing up in the listing preview.  I tried both Internet Explorer and Firefox.  Same thing.  I went ahead and listed item.  The formatting was fine in the actual listing.  On my end, the glitch seems to be in just the listing preview.

As johnfduda indirectly said above, you can schedule the listing if preview is messed up and are unsure enough about how it will look that you don't it live yet, and then view the scheduled listing directly to see.
