Anyone else getting hit with a $.05 Buy Now fee?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Had 2 free insertions left as of yesterday AM.  Went to list a new item and was told there was a $.05 Buy Now fee.  Decided not to list new item and relisted one from the Not Sold column instead; no $.05 fee for that one.

My free insertion promo says 50 free insertions for auction and fixed price style; including Buy Now.  Couldn't find any info anywhere indicating there had been a change.  CS rep on phone couldn't figure it out either.

Anyone else experiencing this?  Any ideas as to why it's happening?

Thanks...

Where did it say that you were being charged 5 cents?  At the bottom of the sell your item form?

If you have an "auction" listing and add a "buy it now" price too, there is a 5 cent charge

But NOT when it should be using a promo for free auction with BIN.

If the OP is only using their free 50 per month for a non store they shouldn't be hit with a fee for BIN either as that only applies to stores (god knows why).

Then list an auction or a buy it now.  No matter what, there is a fee to do both.

Correct on all accounts, I am not a store and only use my free 50 listings.

It should not be applied to any of the things I do or list.  Hoping it's just a glitch of some sort and will get sorted out.

Not too big of a deal as I've pretty much ceased sales on eBay due to all of the stupid here and transitioned to other platforms more cost effective and seller friendly.

The promo is for Auction OR BIN not both.

If you do Auction and ADD a BIN to that it is an extra 5 cents.

It has nothing to do with a store. The Promo is for 1 or the other NOT both at the same time.

The monthly free 50 states:

"Pay no insertion fees for auction-style or fixed price listings. Buy It Now is free too."

Re: Anyone else getting hit with a $.05 Buy Now fee?

I'm wondering if there is a glitch (another one sheesh) with the fees. I had a similar issue yesterday and when I went to edit listings it said that I had accumulated fees for the edits totaling $2.00. I called eBay right away and they looked in the fees charged section of the account and nothing was there, so I wasn't really charged anything even though the bulk edit said I was. Long story short, check your fees in the billing section of your dashboard. In my case it was an error. Hopefully it is the same with yours.

The OP said they were not using a promo (per se) but their allotted free 50 a month which FTR are for fixed price OR auction (with or without a  free BIN).

Stores DO pay for the BIN with auctions (which is FREE to non stores)

IOW you're wrong
