Anyone else get this

This was sent to my personal email. I don't like to click on email links because of scams. Why wouldn't ebay send this to my ebay messaging. I got one a few months back, and emailed the contact asking them to send to my ebay messaging. I never heard back, I got another one today.

Wondering if anyone else got it.  Had to remove all the links or I couldn't post a copy here.  There was a download report link, and a contact link if I had any questions.

Thank you for being among our top eBay fashion sellers! As a top seller, the merchandising team is reaching out with suggestions on inventory that could increase your sales. Attached you will find the opportunities we think are relevant to your categories. This is based on gaps we see where inventory on eBay today is not meeting customer demand. We want to help you capture that demand.

Re: Anyone else get this

It sounds like a spam message from a bulk seller trying to get you to buy his stuff to resell on Ebay.  That's not how I roll and I dont like that he is pretending to be Ebay.

Re: Anyone else get this

It does sound bogus. If the attached file (which you were wise to not open) wasn't simply malware, it would probably have turned out to be links to some fleabag dropshipping company or pseudo-"wholesaler" or similar. There's no real need to put what they were describing in an attachment; they could have simply dropped it into the body of the message. Delete and forget.

Forward the e-mail to spoof@ebay.com and they will tell you if it's real or not.

That isn't always a good test. I once sent one to spoof that I knew for a fact came from eBay and they came back and told me it was not from eBay.

Re: Anyone else get this

I have gotten a few of those. It was maybe January when the first one came. They are from eBay and recommend selling brands that are overly common and are racing to the bottom. After the first email advising Nike, Columbia, Calvin Klein and the like, I chose to delete them. I also have been getting "inventory recommendations" messages that have absolutely nothing to do with what and how I sell.
