There may be a problem with the way you're setting up the listing. I'm no expert in variations so hopefully somebody who is will answer too. I've never seen the amount/quantity as the variation, That's very tricky and duplicitous. Not the true meaning of what a variation listing is meant to be used for. That's handled apart from variations in the quantity entry on the listing form. And then you complicate it further with a discount for buying more.
