Okay so it's been just over 2 years since I first decided to 'cave' and try Promoted Listings (hereafter 'PL' and I just mean standard, not interested in advanced). Two years is long enough that I don't remember the interface for setting up the "campaign" other than I thought it was weird to call something a campaign that I would be determining on a listing-by-listing basis. Digging around, I just now found that history, here it is:
I don't remember what the Aug. 9th one was about, looks like maybe I was testing the waters with just 2 listings, and no clue whatsoever what the other two beneath are about. It says all 3 of those are still "active" and since I see no reason why, I'm guessing I should delete or end them, but will wait to see if anyone says not to, for some reason.
Now, the top campaign, started Oct. 24, 2019 is apparently the one I am still using, because this is what I get (note it says Campaign 4 as the default, under Select a campaign)
So my question is, is there any reason I shouldn't just keep using the same campaign, since it gives me the freedom to set each listing at whatever rate I want? Do algorithms treat "old" campaigns unfavorably even if the listings in it are not old?
Just out of curiosity I clicked Edit to see what the options might be, and I saw this:
I see nothing here I want, so no reason to actually edit the old/current campaign. But if there's some reason it's important to, let me know. Thanks in advance.

Hey @gurlcat, great question about Promoted Listings Standard campaigns.

There’s no penalty for reusing a Promoted Listings Standard campaign you previously created. However, we encourage you to create a new campaign if your inventory has changed dramatically in the past two years. This gives you a clean slate to work with and an opportunity to make sure you’re not leaving out any new listings you’d like to promote.

Only a campaign that has ended can be deleted. If your campaign is active or paused you may not be able to delete the campaign.
In order to end a campaign, click “Actions” next to the campaign you wish to end and choose “End” from the dropdown.
Note: It may take a couple of minutes for the campaign to end. Once the status of the campaign(s) changes to “Ending,” check the box next to the campaign(s) you wish to delete and click “Delete.”
Edits to active campaigns generally take effect the same day. Edits to non-active campaigns take effect when you resume the campaign.
Hope that answers your question. You can find more information, best practices and useful tips for setting up your next Promoted Listings Standard campaign at Seller Center.
