After 20 years $100,000 in sales and purchases I'm calling ebay quits. The agent on the phone could care less. A month ago I had 2 non pay buyers. they turned out to be the same person with diff. screen names. Told ebay about it 2 or 3 times and finally got a reply, they agreed. Both names are still active. No penalty. Pure fraud. I recently had another problem and offered to send the agent proof via email and he told me he has no way of receiving such. Lied right to my face. After 20 years of partnering. Perhaps ebay wants out of the collectible business? I cant see how low cost and high tax/shipping items will carry their day. I just cant reward this company anymore, buying or selling.

There are penalties for non-paying buyers.
Open an unpaid item case after 48 hours. If they don't pay, when you close the unpaid item case, they get a defect on their account. If they do it enough times, most sellers have settings preventing bad buyers from bidding on items.
On my business account I noticed several usernames for the same buyer and I open and close unpaid item cases for them constantly.
I'm surprised that a 20 year seller wouldn't know this.

I'm sorry this happened to you, but I'm a bit confused.
100K in sales and two non paying bidders would make you quit?
Many of us would gladly have a couple non payers and 100K.
Both names still active after your reports? I'm not sure eBay removes buyers based on our criteria, it's just best to file non-paying reports and get your fees refunded.
And as far as "fraud".. yes it's frustrating, but I don't see the fraud.
Granted they didn't pay, but you didn't lose your item completely as can occasionally happen with false chargebacks after shipment.
Respectfully. Thanks
Lynn

Sorry this happened to the OP, but yea I was thinking the same thing. 2 non payers in 20 years sounds a pretty good rate.
The title of the post mislead me as I think it’s an exaggeration. After reading it, I thought the OP was experiencing scammers during multiple consecutive days. But as it turns out, it’s not even considered “another dishonest buyer.” But rather just the same buyer with two accounts... still just one person.
Not sure if this is helpful for the OPs product line, do everything fixed price and immediate payment required... I guarantee it will lessen the risk of getting non payers.

Especially if most of the auctions are only getting one bid...

It's no secret
Within a healthy, & well managed organization,
you expect to interact with agents that appear caring, are competent & truthful.

I understand the frustration of listing and not being paid, and ebay not caring about the same buyer with 2 names, and the disruption of your listings.
You posted a picture showing the fees that you owe for the sales the buyer didn't pay, I'm assuming, and it made me wonder why, or if you know that you will get those fees canceled by ebay if you file an unpaid buyer claim (edit).
So someone is harassing you? Does that mean they win their game if you quit selling after twenty years?
