Android user - camera flash option gone when taking pictures with phone.

I have always listed with my phone, as of a month or 2 ago, I noticed that the camera flash option is no longer available when trying to take pictures on the listing.  I can take the pictures with my camera app just fine with flash, and then upload them to ebay, but this is just an unnecessary step I've never had to do.  Has anyone had this issue, and figured out how to get the flash option back.  Here is what it looks like when I get into camera on ebay to take pics.  Normally the flash icon would be in the top middle.

You might need to delete & reinstall the APP, perhaps your version is outdated?

Here's some info on the APP

Also here's a thread about the same issue so you're not alone.

Really? You want people here to diagnose a problem with your phone AND you don't even mention what specific phone you have!

In an attempt to be helpful, well as helpful as I can given I don't own a smartphone.......

Perhaps there is a setting for you camera to either have the flash on Auto or to have the flash turned off entirely. Most standalone cameras have this type of setting so I'm guessing phones are the same.

That was the first thing I tried, still no luck..I've googled to see others have had same issue with no fix as of yet.

Drat!!

Well perhaps post on the Tech Board?

I think it's a little more monitored but IDK for sure..

Sorry for your trouble..

Its not a problem with my phone, its an issue others are having as well, not just me.  The settings for my camera have no such option to turn flash on or off.

I went through that  board looking and didn't see any fix except reinstall.

Perhaps @**selling**stuff** could post there asking for help but this looks like an issue several are experiencing..

I'm pretty tech savvy, and have tried everything in my phone settings..whats weird, when I hit the camera button on ebay, when my phones screen switches to camera view, I get a quick glimpse of the flash lightning bolt at the top, but then it goes blank..some sort of glitch I believe.  It sure would be nice not to have to open my phones camera app to take pics first before going to ebay to list.

If it's an Android phone I am not surprised. They force you to upgrade nonstop and constantly remove great features and add new useless ones and mess with stuff that should be left alone. Guess they learned that **bleep** from Microsoft? Infuriating.

A better question I have though is why are you taking pictures in a cave? ^_^

Get a nice lighting setup and you won't need a flash. Flash pictures on phones always turn out terrible anyway. 😐
