And A Happy Monday Morning To You

 Message received at 8:00 a.m.

"My item has not shipped and I ordered this because it said delivery by Friday blah blah blah."

Purchase made at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and I don't ship on Saturdays.  Even if I did, my post office closes at noon.

(Note:  I have 2-day handling.)

I admit I didn't play my usual smiley smiley suckup seller in my response to this buyer's query...not even close.

Oh well, I have a 1:40 tee time on this glorious summer afternoon.   All is good.

It's very possible the package will still arrive by Friday and a lot of sellers don't ship on Saturdays.

Some people are so impatient. Glad it's not ruining your day. Enjoy the sunny weather.

By 1 pm, it will be 97 here - and muggy from the severe thunderstorm and flooding throughout the night.

At least, we were not in fear for our lives (or dead) like so many others - and critters - due to weather events.

I suppose it's possible this "buyer" isn't too bright (ya think?)  and was looking at the date s/he placed the bid and expected to receive this Friday 6/23?

It's very possible that a not too bright seller would think that something purchased on a weekend would be shipped before 8:00 a.m. on Monday.  However, *this* bright seller also said:

I ordered this item because the arrival date was on or before June 30th.

I'm not concerned at all about the package arriving by Friday.   I'm concerned* that someone thinks it's worth sending an almost-not-quite irate message at the crack of dawn on the first business day after purchase demanding to know why the item hasn't shipped yet.

*Not concerned about my seller stat thingies but torqued once again by ebay's "you, happy buyer,  will get your life-saving kidney in 3 days."  I may have mentioned ebay's promises, not my promises, not USPS's promises, in my reply.

Once again, this isn't really a rant, just a oh come on man, really?  I have a happy brain because I'm heading out in the sunshine with my sticks and little white ball and I intend to keep doing that while I'm still good at it and I can bend over to put the tee in the ground.  Not many of those years left, ya know...

Well, then,  Sherry, I guess we had better remove the word  "bright" from our conversation?  grinning

My post was in support of your view at how unreasonable & impatient the buyer was. Sorry if it didn't come off that way. Enjoy your time on the green!

badwolf, I know it was in support. heart  I just wasn't done waxing about buyers' unrealistic expectations.

I will pay for my day of play later on tonight, into the wee hours, when I have to list a zillion things.  I was going to just amass inventory over the summer and then eventually get to photos and listing later (non-sunshiney days) (cold days) but I've perhaps gone a bit overboard and the piles they are accumulating.  Hoarder paths.

I think all comments were supporting your viewpoint, Sherry.

As to "not many of those left", I'm probably older than you (a smile will get you two smiles on that guess) and am planning to be around yet for many long years.

It's funny that although most buyers are great - there are always those few that drive us batty. I have one now that I received a return request from a few weeks ago. I accepted it and about 5 days later received a different item than what I had sent. Contacted the buyer - no reply - so after 3 days as I had to refund or report them - filed reports and called Ebay seeing if I could get this closed in my favor - no problem.

All of a sudden the buyer replies that they don't check their mail, broke their hand, and had recently lost husband. This buyer has a bad string of luck for sure. She shipped the wrong items back to myself and another seller. Would I ship the package to the other seller if she paypals me the money - no problem - she writes back the other seller gave her a tracking number so I rush to the PO to get the item in the mail. I still don't have my item back as the other seller didn't have time to get to the PO last week. The sale was 6/5 - still waiting for it to be returned!
