An EBay first

I have paid more than half the sale price for fees for the first time ever. My item sold for $22.58, and my payout is $11.04!! Yay!!

Please break that down for us?

My guess is the fees on shipping made up a lot of your costs? Is there a prize for guessing correctly?

I'm thinking that you are including the cost of the shipping label in your calculations.

If so then your fees are skewed by that.

I can sell an for $10 and show a low payout, but it is 50 times what I paid for the item, so rather meaningless.

It's happened to me before.  If you're selling using eBay International Standard, that can happen.

Yay?

You may have done something wrong, & may wish to avoid that from happening again in future ?

Payouts can be very confusing.    EBAY deducts "selling fees and shipping costs" upfront (balance deposited into your account).   Shipping costs are "held for you" so there is money available when you print labels.   When you print label (go to bottom of page) and click "use pending funds".
