Please help me here, seems like so many people will make offers or accept offers then just never pay, I wait 5 days then click the ‘cancel and relist’ option, which I was told files a NPB strike on the buyer- I also thought my seller account was set to block NPB that have 2+ NPB strikes in the past 12 months. But then when I check buyers feed back it is filled with False positive comments saying they never paid??? The most recent one I have has 8 False Posit e feedbacks saying they never paid in the past month, it’s getting out of hand. Clearly eBay does nothing about it because it continuously happens, it’s just so darn frustrating.

If those sellers had canceled the orders for nonpayment instead of violating a policy, the buyer would have been blocked by most sellers.
Instead of being mad at Ebay, be mad at those sellers for not using the tools that Ebay provides.

No, it's not eBay doing nothing about it, but those sellers. If they actually cancelled with "Buyer did not pay" as the reason (which becomes available to the seller on Day 5 from end of sale), then the deadbeat would indeed get an Unpaid slap that lasts for 12 months. Leaving a false Positive as you showed in your screenshots achieves absolutely nothing, and the deadbeat can have it removed with a penalty for the seller. So if you did not get paid, close it out with a proper Unpaid cancellation and it will help other sellers when you do. The sellers leaving false Positives did not help you at all in that regard.
Your Blocked Buyer List is here: https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/BuyerBlock?
Your Unpaid Purchases page for automatically closing Unpaid items and giving deadbeats an Unpaid slap is here: https://www.ebay.com/Cancel/Preference/UnpaidPurchase
(There is also an exception list maintained on that page if you want to exclude buyers whom you're allowing to pay late.)
Your Buyer Management page for screening buyers with Unpaid slaps in their history is here: https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements
You can view the results of your screening for Unpaid buyers on your Buyer Requirements Activity Log here: https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/blockedbuyeractivities

I appreciate this response. And I do this EVERY TIME, I give them 5 days (1 day more than required), then I click ‘cancel and relist’, which I was told will automatically file a NPB strike in the buyer. I have never left False + feedback because ai believe it’s pointless and I don’t want the **bleep**ty buyers to have more positive feedback. But I find it hard to believe that no other sellers (or 2 at least) in the past 12 months have not filed a NPB strike on them. But if them leaving False + feedback means they DID NOT file a NPB strike, then maybe no one else is doing this.

When you cancel, be sure to choose buyer did not pay to give them a strike.

Fixed Price/Immediate Payment Required.
Stays up for 30 days or until someone actually pays. And will relist automatically.

I have avoided the problem of non-payment by selling at fixed price and not accepting offers.

This is a great point also, and you are absolutely right. I may go back to Fixed Price no best offers. Problem is it can still happen because I send out offers everyday and make a good amount of sales doing it. In those cases, a buyer is still accepting an offer and is not forced to pay right away.

I haven't had a non-paying bidder in years.

Well that was an awesome help to me! Only 1 year old with so much to learn! Thanks

Lol you must not be selling on the same eBay then. Myself, along with many other people that sell sports cards (ranging from $1-100) have them all the time.
if you are selling Fixed Price with no best offers and also not sending out any offers, then I believe it’s possible. Also, thanks to a couple of the actual helpful comments on here, hoping I have my buyer requirements set up properly now. If you have helpful tips and tricks please comment them, if not, please keep the random brag posts to yourself.

FOLLOW THIS ADVISE! Especially in the category you sell in. SOOOO, much hype in cards including buyers remorse. Block, block block.

Just two small points of clarification:
Fixed price listings roll over each month on the same date as they began, so the duration is not always 30 days. A listing started on March 18 will roll over on April 18, May 18, June 18, etc.
This rollover is a continuation of the original listing, not a "relist". A relist would have a new listing number and the counter on a multi-item listing would start over at zero. The continuous rollover means that longstanding fixed price listings can accumulate long, increasing "Sold" history, which gives them credibility.

I have a feeling they are not getting strikes anymore. I have two selling accounts and had one buyer on both that didn’t pay. I always wait the allotted time period to make sure they get a strike on their account. I checked on that buyer after that because with both accounts equating two strikes that would ban them from most people, but he was still buying. Sometimes paying people sometimes not. I read one feedback about a month later a person left that said deadbeat buyer didn’t pay and that they made sure to leave a strike on account. That person was a seasoned seller so I have no doubt they had blocks set up.

I've had a huge spike in non-payment over the last 3 weeks. I finally had to turn off best offer for all of my listings because of it. Sadly because of the deadbeats allowed on eBay, good buyers now don't get the option to make an offer and maybe save a few bucks.
There is absolutely no reason why eBay does not make EVERY offer sender agree to immediate payment if the offer is accepted and make sure that they payment method is tested and on file. Every other selling site seems to be able to do this, eBay needs to get into 2022 and do this as well. Don't make it an option, make it mandatory for all offer makers. Don't allow sellers to turn it off either. Make it across the board for everyone.
