Over my past few orders on Amazon, my Prime shipping has been one day. Not sure if this is on every item now, but for the past few orders (totally different, and random items), the shipping has been one day. Uh oh for eBay, there is almost no way to make items ship that fast, despite their efforts to "encourage" everyone to ship now now now! USPS Priority is 2-day, (sometimes 3-day), and even that is not guaranteed. No way I'm ever paying (as a buyer or seller) for overnight shipping, so eBay has already lost the shipping game to Amazon. I wouldn't think it would be that big a deal, if they weren't hellbent on trying to be the next Amazon...

Ebay will never be able to offer that as they are comprised of independent sellers vs - Amazon who has multiple locations and warehouses throughout the US. I read an article that they were offering $10000 bonuses to current employees to be delivery personal. I don't need anything that badly that it has to be delivered in one day - usually.

Agree personally about the shipping time. But some people (cough cough, millennials, cough cough) neeeeeeed to have their stuff now!!! Also, if eBay would stop trying to be a clone of Amazon, and focus on being their own unique site, that would be a different matter. My GF and I both order from Etsy, and the hyper-spastic in-your-face shipping speed is not plastered everywhere like it is on eBay. Because of that, I think most Etsy shoppers don't really think about shipping speed. It's only because eBay rams shipping speed down everyone's throat, that it's a problem for them, trying to compete...

As the other consumers that use USPS, those costs are passed right on to us. Amazon pays them around $1.50 per shipment. That's an average, so the big and heavy boxes still ship them for peanuts and now we're getting two postal increases in one year!

amazon is going to loose in two years much market shares 🙂 wal mart is going to do also one day shipping , and also home depot, so rest of will start it too ,when other merchandise will start one day shipping, amazon door will be start closing, amazon is behaving like nokia, pay 120$ to them and than get free delivery, you pay some you get some, a product of 5$,customer buy in 30$ on amazon . there is no quality control on amazon at all. every rise has decline. so i can see another nokia clearly in two years. 30% of products amazon keep changing prices, for rest of amazon is selling very expensive.
i wish other than walmart,target and home depot also others should start one day shipping and sink amazon.
why amazon is so big company because amazon is making so much profit, why amazon is making so much profit bcz selling expensive , add one item in cart and check price of same item after two days on prime it will be increase.such cheap shot by amazon.

Even without prime, I ordered something from a seller on Amazon a month ago and received it in two days, and it arrived on a Sunday. That surprised me because while I opted for free shipping, it was supposed to take 4-5 business days.

Is Amazon Prime the service that I was defaulted into paying $99 a year for?

EBay sellers charge what it costs to ship (even Free Shipping means that the cost of shipping is buried in the asking price).

I sell books on Amazon at the same price as here on eBay. I charge the same amount on both sites, but I cannot work out how to offer Free Shipping. All my books have a $6.49 shipping price included.

Sales are so infrequent I have not worked out whether I am paying AZ $6.49 for shipping myself at my own (much lower) cost or if the buyer is paying me $6.49 for a service I would not be charging separately for.

Amazon search will show 3rd party sellers that are in your area in a lot of cases, if you happen buy from them, thus the 1 and 2 day deliveries without Prime. Lot of companies selling through Amazon.

Got an AMZ shipment yesterday. 14 hrs. And matched prices on ebay.

Surely they must have a "transporter".

I ordered something in the morning and received it the same day. It’s disconcerting to think they just signed a contract with usps in which usps takes a loss on every delivery. They pass their losses along to us....

They'd have a specialty item... do a 2 to 3 month marketing blitz..

and then at the end..

if they got 18,000 orders, they'd make 18K of them.

My Amazon prime packages often come late. This is the message I got today when I try to track one that was supposed to arrive today:

Now expected May 23 - May 24
Your package can still arrive May 23 - May 24

I hope eBay doesn't start putting restrictions in place to force sellers to ship the next day. I'm happy with my three day shipping window and my buyers are happy.
