Amazing Amount of eBay Junk Mail

I get a message from eBay almost daily; sometimes two.

All they are doing is advertising themselves.

I suspect that time, effort and cost could be put to better use, particularly problem solving.

Hi, @daveroo.

If you don't like those emails, you can change what they send you at http://my.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbayBeta&CurrentPage=MyeBayNextNotificationPreferences.

Amazing Amount of eBay Junk Mail

I get a couple a week...not overwhelming...BUT
Some of the ones I get can be PURE JUNK...no relation to what I sell or buy.
Got one today about Section 179 items...industrial stuff. My total market is golf related.
The question remains...what are these lame brain programmers having the bots look for?

I think they send that stuff in bulk and don't even look what the people they send it to sell.

It's been really bad the last two weeks.  I really think I've been getting at least 3 each day and most are so worhless.  I do it to get the eBay Bonus Bucks, which came yesterday.

ONLY one or two? I get at least four or five daily and I'm opted out of everything except seller promotions. At least they don't send nearly as much as Amz.  I get at least a dozen a day from them and I haven't bought anything there in over a year.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Especially the 'hot selling items'.

And if you get the bonus bucks, then you are opted into more emails than just those.

I don't get the bonus bucks emails because i have everything turned off - and STILL get the worthless 'hot selling items' emails every day or every other day, no matter how many times I've used the 'Tell us why it stinks' link.

Amazing Amount of eBay Junk Mail

ebay_messaging_Tell-us-why-it-stinks.gif

Firefox Stylish rule:

@-moz-document url-prefix('https://mesg.ebay.com/'){
  div#my-hdr>span#rgt-links.lnks>a#feedback-lnk
   {visibility:hidden !important; position:relative !important;}

  div#my-hdr>span#rgt-links.lnks>a#feedback-lnk:after
   {visibility: visible !important;  position:absolute !important;
   top:1px; !important;     left: 15px !important;
   right: 0px !important;   width:100% !important;
   content: 'Tell us why it stinks' !important;
   text-decoration: underline !important; }
}/*end url-prefix('http://mesg.ebay.com/*/

(didn't take the time to figure out how to get the replacement text to underline only on hover and not even sure it's possible with CSS3 alone)

So the consensus is that there's no way to get rid of those eBay seller "Hot List" messages?

I have everything turned off in communication preferences and still get that junk also.

Anyone tell me how to turn off the annoying community forum "Did you get the answer you needed?" emails that show up a week or so after I start a thread? (It's almost enough to prevent me from starting threads here)

(guess I need to just filter them to trash, but it's more fun to complain 🙂
