Got an order from another state which has a 6.25% sales tax for that state. (my state sales tax is 6.625%).
Purchase total for this order with shipping comes to $24.35.
Why did "tax collected by eBay" come to $2.00 even?!
Am I missing something?

In about half of the states, there can also be local (municipal, county etc.) rates added onto the basic statewide rate. See for instance Texas and Illinois in this chart:

Tax is based on the buyer location and may include on shipping depending on the State law.

@celtinner_2 From what I've seen tax is based on item plus shipping cost. That's how our state operates ...

Yeah the buyer's location State Tax is 6.25% . The shipping, I included above of the purchase order. The total should be around $1.52 and that is with adding in the shipping costs.
EDIT:
$19.00
$5.35 Shipping

$24.35 = 6.25% = $1.52
not $2.00
