Has anyone else gotten a letter from Allegion Authorized Reseller requesting you drop your Schlage items?

That is probably a letter protecting their sales channel and (more likely) their MAP pricing.

Are you an authorized reseller?  If not, I can see two violations in your listings ...

  1. You are advertising Schlage products with warranties, and you are not authorized to offer warranties on behalf of Schlage unless you are an authorized reseller.
  2. On some of your listings, you are using stock images.  These are the property, likely, of Schlage ... again, unless you are an authorized reseller, you cannot use their stock or marketing images.  You also cannot use marketing text from the manufacturer ... but you can list parameters such as size, weight, features, etc.

If I had received such a letter, I would reply back that I am the owner of these items and I am selling them.   Perhaps, you could state that you are changing the listings to list as "New (other)" so as not to cause confusion with resellers who are selling their products as brand new.

Using one's own photos instead of stock would probably help, too. It's harder to claim First Sale Doctrine as a defense if you're using stock photos, I think.
