eBay doesn't  determine what's  antique versus vintage or question the descriptive words in your descriptions.

eBay sets their definition of "vintage" at 20 years.

"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered...History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right." – George Orwell

Hell is empty. And all the devils are here.

Age of Items

According to research on the Internet, antiques are over 100 years old, and vintage items are at least 20 years old. That means anything you have that was made prior to 1923 is antique, and anything between 1923 and 2003 is vintage.

There is a term called retro, but it is an item that is made recently to look vintage or antique and is priced a lot less than an actual vintage or antique item that it mimics.

Age of Items

As a seller of vintage and antiques items, it's a question I hear a lot. This is just a general idea of what we've determined on our own:

Vintage: 1970's-2000's

Mid-Century: 1940's-1960's

Antique: 1900's-1930's

Primitives: 19th C.

The definition of vintage a decade ago:

Vintage clothes-from the 30s to the 80s

Vintage jewelry-before 1980

Vintage watches-before 1960

Vintage pens- before 1965

Vintage cars are from 1919 to 1925. Some say 1930.

Vintage instruments are those no longer in production.

Vintage records are over 20 years old. Some say 30.
