Ads With Hundreds of key Words Make Searching Impossible

Searching on ebay has become next to impossible. When searching for specific car parts in my case, sellers have loaded their ads with hundreds of key words. I have called ebay about this, and while they agree with me, they don’t do anything about it. As a seller, I know my sales are down, because unless I pay for a promoted listing, potential buyers need to search thru lots of irrelevant ads before they ever find mine. I have been a seller for 8 years, and this is the worst year I’ve had. I find better results on marketplace, yeah therer are a lot of time wasters, but at least they can find what I’m selling.

I guess I forgot to mention that searching for 3 hours to find something that should take 10 minutes takes all the fun out of it. The eBay search needs to be efficient and predictable in order to be enjoyable and effective, it could be if the tech department would just fix it. Most of eBay works good, its the eBay Motors parts that sucks, of course that's what I really wan to function properly. And I am too uninterested to try more exotic searches, I've been using eBay for 25 years and they've finally managed to crush my spirit, I just wish they would fix it, or at least tell me flat out that they are not so I can just be done with it.

What search is taking you three hours to accomplish?

Or do you mean that you run a quick search and spend three hours going through the results?

If so, you may benefit a great deal from changing the way you search initially so that you spend less time going over unwanted results.

eBay is highly unlikely to either "fix it" or to "tell you flat out that they are not" any time soon.

You are in a much better position to fix your own searches than eBay is. If you think you have more productive things to do with your time or better ways to find what you are looking for, no one here will insist that you search for those things on eBay if you do not want to. But if you want help finding something, many will offer suggestions to help you.

Anything involving numbers has become way more difficult to find. I have no idea how it came to this, but I am not surprised and it is almost expected seeing how this company operates.. I am sure they will find creative new ways to make it even worse. It is almost as if they are ignoring things in the search query, thinking they know better. I can only imagine the frustration of casual internet users.

Even things I have added to my watch list I can't find when copypasting the exact title of the listing in the search bar.

Like what? What are you searching for and how are you searching, if you don't mind sharing?

Any difference if you put the number in quotes when searching, and narrow to a specific category?
