Why are there adds at the top advertising OTHER sellers listings on my listing pages??
Unbelievable that ebay is suggesting they go to the other seller and not buy or bid on
my listings. Never heard of a company doing something like that to a longtime seller paying them
many dollars in fees.

Shoot they're at the top middle and bottom of all the listings. Been that way for years.

Thats nothing new, they've always done that. Just like your listings appear on other sellers pages.

Because sellers pay for their ads to be there. It's called Promoted listings.

If they don't buy from you eBay still wants them to buy from the platform.

While eBay is placing more "ads" that they used to there are been plenty of these showing on your listings for about 10 years!
Up until about 4 years ago YOU did not see them when looking at your own listings (you would see them on all other listings). For the past 4 years they have been visible when looking at your own listings.
If you are unaware it can only mean that you never look at ANY (yours or others) listings and haven't for years. Given your volume I find that somewhat incredible that you are just now seeing this, apparently for the first time.

No they have not been. Just looked again and the ads are gone.

@dougstamp1 as others have said, eBay has been stuffing increasing numbers of ads all across listings and other places on the site for years.
But, if you're specifically referring to these banner ads at the top of a listing:
That is a relatively new placement for Promoted Stores Display ads, which has been in use off and/on for just the last few months.

I see them a lot now right under the title. I was looking at one of my favorite sellers and there was a " Have you tried ******** for similar items". It was right in the main part of his listing right by the pictures of his item. I would never look at or buy from somebody because of an insult like that. Why are they insulting some of the best sellers on eBay? Pretty lame!!

They don't show all the time, but it's there.

I checked one of my listings yesterday and it had two store banners from another seller and 69 rows of suggestions.

As a seller and occasional buyer, I protest this practice by never taking the bait. If I find an item I want through organic search on Google or eBay, I don't shop the other options. I also don't shop sponsored listings because that model has ruined eBay search.
