Did you mean:

Address must be 40 characters or less.

Why does Ebay allow users to input invalid addresses over 40 characters......and then, when said user buys an item, tells sellers that the address is invalid, and if you edit the address you lose seller protections.

Ebay...don't let users input invalid addresses in the first place. This happens with Puerto Rico ALL the time. This is an EBay problem, you need to fix this..not me...YOU need to fix it.

Why does EBAY warn you when you that you'r seller protections will be invalidated, if you split the address onto the second line? Again, why does Ebay allow people to input invalid addresses?

Look, you can fight this all you want.  The answers will remain the same.  I could care less if you believe me.  Do whatever you think is best for you.  Cancel the sale and forget about it.  Clearly you don't like it.  Instead of trying to argue with me on a point that is completely unnecessary, just make a decision about how you plan to handle these types of sales, apply that and MOVE ON!

In case you decide to change the address.  It only seems unusual to you because you want to continue arguing about this subject.

"Your protection is unaffected" Can you guarantee that to me? Scammers are smarter than you think.

YES, as did elizabeth@ebay  .  "Good morning @rabites-n-chocobos. In scenarios such as this, you are able to place half of the address on the line below, and you will not lose seller protections, as that second line is intended for this. If you alter the address itself by changing numbers, names etc. then you would lose those protections. Hope this helps! "

Re: Address must be 40 characters or less.

"Why are you telling this to me?"

I know it was awhile ago, but we are sharing this stuff with you because you asked.  It is afterall what this thread is about that you started.

Re: Address must be 40 characters or less.

Thanks, I was a programmer for 20 years. This kind of stuff is so easy to fix. Like literally 2-3 day at most.

Re: Address must be 40 characters or less.

You support a work-around? You would lose seller-protections, because workarounds have worked for you in the past?

Ebay has programmers. I've been a programmer for 20 years. It would take a maybe 2 days to fix this. This is an elementary problem.

Re: Address must be 40 characters or less.

There is not a soul on this thread that can approve you to do the coding to fix this address issue you are most concerned with.  You need to talk directly with Ebay is you want that resolved,
