Adding a sale banner

Does anyone know how to add a banner for a Black Friday Sale somewhere on the item page for all items in inventory?  I am doing a markdown of 10% off my entire inventory and want to show a name for the sale.  Please advise ASAP.  Thanks!

When you talked about banners, I was picturing something more like these (which I used as a temporary billboard on the store homepage in the past:

Adding a sale banner

@dpals4357  I think ebay puts a statement at the top of the listing page if the item is on sale. But it's not a banner. I'm not aware of any way to put a banner at the top of the listing page. You could maybe put something in the description?

A couple other things you can do, but they aren't exactly what you are asking about. You can temporarily replace your store home page billboard (the design at the very top of the page) with one promoting your sale.

You can also create what ebay calls a "banner" further down the Home Page. I'm not running a sale right now, but if you go to my store home page, you can see a large graphic of a Thanksgiving napkin holder and some tect to the left of it. That's what ebay calls a store "Banner".  You can set this up for a promotion you are running, and you make your own graphic to promote the sale.

@dpals4357  Oh, OK, yes, that's right, I forgot that ebay does add that row of "on sale" items on the listing page....no need for you to do anything, ebay does that automatically.

Best of luck with your sale!

I Like these better but I couldn't find the section that said banners anywhere on my store homepage.

@dpals4357  ebay does not call that a "banner"...they call it a billboard. Your billboard has a graphic of an open ring box with a ring. You can change that graphic anytime. So, if you want to create a graphic like I showed above, you can create the graphic, or have some one create one for you (make sure it is the right size) and replace the current graphic with the new graphic.

To start the process, go to your store home page, look at the upper right corner of your billboard. See where it says "manage my store"?

Click on that.

Now, a new page opens with a version of your store home page that you can edit. Look again at your billboard. See the little pencil in a circle icon in the upper right.

Click on that.

That will allow you to replace the current billboard (make sure you have a saved copy of that graphic, so it is available when you want to put it back after the sale.) If you already have a graphic made, I think all you need to do is click "Replace" and follow the instructions. If you need to create a graphic, you can click Vista Create to use that tool to create your graphic, or you can use another tool, such as Canva.

For information on creating a graphic, see: https://pages.ebay.com/image-guide/index.html

Remember, when your sale ends you want to go in and replace the sale billboard with your regular store billboard

As I said above, there is also something called a "Marketing Banner". You are not currently using one. I am. Go to my store home page, scroll down a bit and you'll see a graphic of a napkin holder of two Pilgrim kids praying. If you click on the graphic, I have it set to take you to my Thanksgiving Category. The graphic is from an item I have for sale, but it could be a completely custom made graphic.

The Marketing Banner image can link to a specific item you want to highlight, or to a category, or to a promotion. Just scroll down in the "Manage Your Store" page to "Use a Marketing Banner".  Again, click the pencil icon, then "edit banner". Select "Promotion" from the column on the left. When you do that, a box should open to your right, "Select a promotion"....you select your promotion from there (in this case, the sale you are running....I assume you only have one promotion going right now). Your promotion page will be the link shown here. That will be the page people are taken to if they click your marketing banner graphic. (This is your current sale page: https://www.ebay.com/sme/dpals4357/Save-up-to-10/so.html?_seedid=275351983306&_soffType=SaleEvent&_s...

The graphic for this can be anything you want, but it is best if it is square and ebay says 640 by 640 pixels. I don't have an example handy, but last year, I created this graphic to remind buyers of USPS Holiday Shipping deadlines (and I set it so it would take them to my Christmas category):
