Add shipping when buyer chose local pickup

I had added three "buyer pays" shipping options plus local delivery. The buyer (in a different country) must have selected local pickup because I don't have the shipping options/prices prepopulated. I can only add a shipping option and manually add a price. I don't know what the price is and I don't know how to reestablish the automated eBay shipping based on the weight and dimensions that I'd added to the listing.

How do we get this fixed? Is there something that the buyer can do?

You can't "fix" the buyer selecting local pick up by mistake.

As far as international shipping, if you elect to use ebay's GSP (global shipping program)

it will figure out the international shipping charges for you.

If buyer is in agreement you can cancel the sale, make sure the Shipping options include the country you are shipping to, remove the Local Pickup option and then relist for the buyer.

Can GSP be selected at invoice time? I don't think I chose that as one of the original options.

Thanks for the suggestion.

The buyer hasn't been very communicative and I'm not sure that I'd trust that they would follow through with the purchase.

Is there a better way to offer local pickup in the future, BTW? Maybe don't add it as an official option but mention it in the description and send a custom invoice if they want to do local? It seems like a flaw/hassle for a far-away buyer to accidentally get locked into a local pickup.

I am not sure.  I think only the options offered in the listing is all you can do.  Making a change after something is sold is difficult.

If the buyer does not speak English maybe if you sent a message in their language they may better understand what the problem is.  Try this translator.

You can indeed send an invoice before they pay with Local Pickup selected, even if it wasn't offered in the listing, but that requires buyers to read and either request an invoice or message you letting you know to send one, which isn't guaranteed to happen.  There's really no perfect method to ensure this won't happen again, and also give you a good way to offer local pickup consistently, sadly.
