Add recommended item specifics is a MESS

Is there ANY plan to fix this whole trainwreck?

I am trying SO HARD to add these specifics, yet it's borderline impossible when every other item I "update" does not reflect those updates. It's always something and it's getting on my last nerve. 90% of my 320+ listings that "need item specifics" do not even need them.

Why does every single item need a "character" or any number of other specifics that have nothing to do with them? All this whole debacle is doing is making unneeded work for us and serves no purpose other than to annoy us.

My sales have tanked this last week and i have to wonder if eBay is somehow "punishing" me for not having all of the "suggested" specifics.

At this point, I am pretty sure I speak for a lot of us sellers when I say CAN WE NOT? Just let us list our items and let us sell them without badgering us constantly about the most useless things possible.

I'm with you, I list trading card games and I

started to fix them when already past 90days and lost almost 2.000 ended listing to relist, and don't know which one are so I'm going one by one. I hate this, plus ebay taking care of our money and not PayPal, I'm not the same as before, you never know what you have  😞

These recommended item specifics are completely worthless, waste of time, and annoying.  I added a few here and there but they still come up as needing attention.  There's no way I'm going to spend my valuable time adding 7 recommended specifics to a $9.99 item.

Another complete waste of time is now you have to renew listings one by one.  You used to be able to do it 10 at a time but no more.

I have been trying to add the specifics for my items and the page keeps disappearing or doesn't even open at all.  I'm only selling on eBay to get rid of stuff I'm no longer interested in and to make a little extra money.  I can't wait until I'm finished with them and I feel bad for people who do this for a living!  Anyone else having this problem?

If yo go into all the listings from sellers hub on active listings you click the required soon one’s and then there is a little tab where you can update each one without revising the listing. On my ipad i have to click that twice to get the save button to come up. You have to go through what is shown as there may be two or more required and if you do not get them in there if wil show you the other required after the first one is inputed.

The big issue with this-for me anyway-is that in the REQUIRED specifics are size and color. I’m selling lingerie. When I have a listing for the same item in different sizes, that is the reason I’m using a multi variation listing. I now have 7 listings that I’m unable to fix due to their removal of “material “ in the item specific section. All 7 are unable to be edited at all due to this. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE

I fixed all my other listings months ago…..tedious job but done.

Big waste of time. They tell me I have 11,885 items to revise. I have over 16,500 items on. My sales are great and they change the rules in the middle of the game? I don't have the personal to have it done.

I'm frankly losing my mind over the item specs. I feel like I'm adding them to the same items every single day and I do check the box to not remind me again....  In some of mine I'm putting Jesus in the character (I sell religious items). LOL. It's just bizarre!!!

If my customer doesn't know that a cross is in the shape of a cross I will have bigger problems to deal with.

RIGHT ON & DITTO!  "Getting on my last nerve" -- SOOOOO relatable. The Item Specifics thing is so broken. I also press Add button to add and nothing happens. UGH. It's like trying to bake with an Easy Bake Oven. I hate eBay more every year. Its functionality sucks.

After 20 years selling on eBay, I have pulled all my stock over these dreadful item specifics. It's never-ending, more and more are being added all the time.  The vast amount are totally irrelevant, I have already written the necessary details in the title and the listing. I guess the idea is to drive away the smaller collectibles and second-hand dealers like me, so they can concentrate on building their cheapie shop stuffed with PRC rubbish and counterfeits. It will go badly for eBay in the long run. Not everyone wants poor quality junk!

I have never seen such a mess. Why would they put all this useless garbage on the listing details--when it has nothing to do with Paste jewelry--tons of questions about Diamond size,depth,clarity--when this does not apply to Paste jewelry. It's not as though there were just a few added questions----but you scroll down, and down, and down, and down---it is ridiculous. It waste "tons" of your time----and it does not make you want to list more---but run in the other direction---ebay used to be fun---but the fun in selling here is quickly disappearing. They can't go back to work and answer phone calls--the get a call back  contact is like going thru a maze to answer questions to get someone best suited to your question--when your question is never one listed. Then you get an automated response--and if you hold your nose right, you might figure out a way to actually get a call back.I don't see how their business is still operating--looks like most would be fed up with their  garbage and start letting ebay know how they feel--it is the only way for better change to happen.Where do they find these people that keep making things harder and harder--instead of easier.Who has time to feel in "does not apply--over and over and over!!!!  It is infuriating to say the least. It is getting to always be something with ebay---and not in a good way.Tons and tons of item specifics is crazy--when it "doesn't apply" to your listing!!!

I just spent 13 minutes alone just filling out item specifics and I too have jewelry most of which have no stones so for all those, I just put N/A. And then I get all the way down to publish and guess what it says!!  "You have TOO MANY item specifics!?!? Which ones do I use and not use? Insanity!!

I agree totally.  Why doesn't eBay address our issues and just explain how we can fix this.  I've called.  Every person I've spoken to has no clue about Item Specifics.  I have filled out everything that pertains to my 1,000 comics but eBay continues to ask for Item Specifics that are NOT APPLICABLE. There is no superhero group on a Tarzan comic for example, no Professional Grader, No Certification Number, and no additional Features, etc.  But they keep asking for these 4 Item Specifics in particular.  If it's blank, it does not pertain. Why doesn't eBay add a NOT APPLICABLE box?  Why do we have to type "NO" or "NONE" on so many other item specifics?  When I check the box that says "Don't Remind Me" I'm ignored.  And the request for these Item Specifics seem to be returning sooner than the listing cycle renewal for fixed items (should be 30 days, it's not) requires.   I've called eBay and no matter who I get they don't know what I'm talking about.  I'm going to ignore them and see what happens. I'm tired of banging my head against an eBay wall.

Not helpful.  Just today EBay asked me for 485 Item Specifics on comics, books, and other entertainment material.  I have over a thousand or more items that "require" Item Specifics and they keep reminding me, even though these listings do not require them.  I sent this to a previous seller:   Why doesn't eBay address our issues and just explain how we can fix this.  I've called.  Every person I've spoken to has no clue about Item Specifics.  I have filled out everything that pertains to my 1,000+ comics but eBay continues to ask for Item Specifics that are NOT APPLICABLE.
