I want to add to a description of an item that already has bids (add a note that I realized the handmade paper doll clothes fit onto the paper dolls in another listing). The original description is locked. I entered the note (about the item number of the paper dolls in another listing that the clothes fit) in the “Additional Description” section. But when I clicked to revise the listing, an error message came up stating “Listing Errors. Looks like something is missing. Please fix any issues and try again. Item specifics.” But the item specifics are locked. I cannot fix/change/add any item specifics. Is there any way to solve this so I can add a note about my other listing into this description?
Handmade paper doll clothes is item 266414911181.

No changes can be made to an auction once someone has placed a bid on it. Sorry.
As shown on the Help page about revisions, the seller should be able to ADD to the listing description of an auction that has received bids, as long as it has more than 12 hours left. The auction in question has more than 4 days left.

In order to have more info that you want to add, you'd have to end the listing early and pay FVF on the price at the time you end it then relist with the new information. Ending a listing early when there are bids implies to ebay that you are either taking the sale off-site or you aren't happy with the price so they penalize sellers who end auctions early when there are bid(s).
Just let the listing run to the end.

@auntzenie Can you pics? You could take a pic of a typed note (Also Fits Doll XYZ) of what you're trying to add. It's been a while since I wanted to revise with offers pending, so I'm not sure if that possible. They do this so sellers can't change or edit what buyers have already bid or made an offer on. Best of Luck!

I was hopeful, but no. I tried adding a photo ( of a written note about what I wanted to add to the description), but the exact same error message ”Listing Errors” came up.

You should be able to put in additional information with a "note" but you can't change the original description. I know I have done it before so I am not sure why you are running into trouble.

If someone sends you a question about the item, you can answer the question and check a box to include the Q&A in the listing. I'd be happy to ask a question on your listing. Just message me with the question you'd liked asked. I presume something like, "Will these clothes fit any of the dolls you have listed?"

Even if you can't change item specifics, you should be able to add a section of text at the bottom of the Description section.
eBay has a policy which prohibits text in photos, so you might have been caught by that. Another possibility is that the bots somehow object to your posting a listing number, so try posting a Description addendum which only refers to your other listing by title.

You can't change descriptions, titles, shipping charges nor photos in any listings that have bids on them, nor on listings that you have sent coupons to followers on. There are other suggestions here that are good as far as notes, and attaching questions.

You could end the listing and re list it with the additional info you want to add. Listings are free. Just a suggestion.
Happy Selling!

If the listing is ended with bids, the seller will pay final value fees on the ended listing based on the current bid price when ended.

Also, a listing that already has two bidders when it has more than 4 days left has plenty of interest even without the additional info, IMHO. Canceling those bids and relisting might annoy those two bidders so much they might not re-bid. A bird in the hand and all that.

Good idea. I tried, adding the note in Additional Description, without item number, and description only using the title of other listing. Nope. Got the exact same error message. Ugh.

Sounds good! Yes, please, ask the question “Will these clothes fit any of the paper dolls you have listed?” And thank you!
