My latest sale I noticed I was charged with an ad fee, I hve not signed up for any promotional ads. How do I make sure it does not happen again?

To turn off go to Advertising, Promotions, Default Campaign (click on items and change to INACTIVE). Also, be aware that if you use "sell similar" (you will inherit whatever the "other person" chose). Also, if you are using a Phone App you should check your default to make sure Promotion % is not turned on.

This is the only way eBay knows how to make extra money. Somehow 13.25% of the world's sales isn't enough. I find it difficult being charged for these services and not being able to see what I'm paying for. Especially when repeat customers buy the same exact item from me that they have purchased for years without a promoted fee, but now it's charged as a promoted sale.
What exactly were you charged for? Priority? General? Screenshot? Do you have any active campaigns?

I do not have an active campaign. But When i checked, it showed that I did have one that has been active since 01/14/2014. But I never signed up for one, and this is the only time I have ever seen this charge. I looked back at some of my other slales, no ad promotion fee. So I slide the button over to deactivate. But as i said, I never activated it in the first place.

Whoa so it was a one-of-kind listing? Well then it really doesn't make sense.

My thoughts are that eBay has been getting away with a lot of this behavior, betting that most won't invest the time to contact them on FB or X. It can take days for a representative to get back to you. This is all by design.
I would call them out on this and have them credit you. Computers don't make these types of mistakes. eBay is getting more desperate every day.
