Account restriction for counterfeit item removals

Over the past three months I have 3 items removed off eBay. They claim the items are not authentic. Anyway to appeal or get this items reinstated so my account will not be restricted?

Re: Account restriction for counterfeit item removals

If it was a VeRO (Verified Rights Owner) removal, there is little you can do.   The copyright owner told eBay that the item(s) were not authentic and requested they be removed.

The emails received would have provided some information on the removals and if you had any options.

Re: Account restriction for counterfeit item removals

I have sold movies, first VHS and Beta now DVDs, continually for almost 30 years. My tally on e-Bay, under my current account, is approx. 3000. Of those, two were removed and labelled counterfeit; both were definitely authentic.  I was a complete failure explaining to customer service that e-Bay had erred. I strongly suggest accepting the situation and moving forward.

Re: Account restriction for counterfeit item removals

Some battles are just not worth fighting. There is no way of telling why they were tagged as counterfeit so even if you won an appeal and reposted there is the possibility that they could get tagged again. I once had an 1873 Seated Liberty Half Dollar removed because it was reported as counterfeit despite the metal purity being tested and verified, the size verified with a micrometer and the weight validated.

It was not but there was no way I was going to try and repost it.  I took it to a coin shop and sold it to the shop after they did some close examination. Ironically the reason for the counterfeit removal was a purported problem with the mint mark. I mentioned this to the coin shop and they said not a problem that a lot of older coins have stamping issues that are irregularities that are often not captured in known publications. He was thrilled to death with the coin which, while not graded, was in excellent condition and he paid me quite a bit more than what I had it listed for on eBay.

Re: Account restriction for counterfeit item removals

OP,

I am confused.

In your original post you said eBay claimed your items were "not authentic".

But now in the message you posted, eBay very clearly states that they were removed because of insufficient descriptions or photos.
