Been using Ebay for 25 years. Mostly buying but started selling last year. Over 600 transactions.......100% positive feedback. Roughly 6 months ago, Ebay sent me a message requiring me to verify my financial institution information. I had been using the checking account (my personal checking account) in question for roughly the last 3 years. I was instructed to upload my most recent checking account statement. I uploaded it as instructed and it was declined without explanation. I went through this process 4 times and each time it was declined. I "chatted" with an Ebay representative and they "suspected" that it was probably because the full account number wasn't shown on the statement. I found it odd that they couldn't provide a definitive explanation. I explained that my bank WILL NOT issue a statement with the full account number shown......they only show X's followed by the last 4 digits.....for MY protection. So I hand wrote the full account number on the statement and uploaded it yet again. And again it was declined.
Out of frustration, I gave up. As a result, I haven't used Ebay for "selling" for the last 5 months. Today, I decided to try and get my selling privileges started up again. I had an Ebay representative call me to discuss having the selling restriction lifted. I explained everything that happened and asked what I needed to do to have the restriction lifted. I was put on hold for 2 minutes, after which the VERY rude Indian Customer Service rep said that my request was denied and that my selling privileges have been revoked PERMANENTLY........again, ZERO explanation. When I asked who I needed to speak to, I was told that I had ZERO recourse to appeal the decision. I did absolutely NOTHING wrong. All I needed to do was to verify a checking account that I had been using for years. This is absolute insanity.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Of my 600+ Ebay transactions, over 550 were purchases.....to the tune of thousands of dollars. My days of buying on Ebay are over if they plan on revoking my selling privileges indefinitely. Not a wise business decision on their part. Absolute insanity.

That's very odd. My bank (Chase) includes the full account number on my statements. I believe that is the standard operating procedure. The account number is not a big security issue, because it is printed on every check that you have.
What bank are you using, @bmg1960? Some online accounts don't work well with eBay. Often, it turns out to be because they don't accept debit requests, or they put a limit on them.
You may need to open a separate checking account to receive payouts. Many sellers prefer to do that, anyway.
Your bank statement needs to conform with these requirements:

Thanks for the response. You may be right. I use a credit union that is somewhat local to my part of Pennsylvania. But insane that because Ebay isn’t familiar with the bank that I use, they would just restrict my selling privileges without any explanation whatsoever. Especially when I’ve been using this account to receive payments multiple times already, without issue.
Ebay customer service was VERY rude and basically shut me down without offering any explanation or the ability to discuss it with someone. I’m “assuming” it’s because they simply refuse to accept my bank, but no one has actually said that, or exactly why my selling privileges were revoked. It’s virtually impossible to speak with an actual human being at EBay, apart from their Indian call center half way around the world. And all they do is read off of a computer screen. They offer no help and refuse to let you past them. Just horrible.
Thanks again for the feedback.

When you upload the first page of your bank statement the 'Logo' has to appear on the bank statement.
What did I do...I went to my bank and asked for a copy of my first page statement with the 'Logo' on it...meaning the name of the bank...doesn't have to be in color.
My bank had no problem giving me a copy when I went into the bank and asked a teller for one.
