Account Permanently Suspended Without Explanation

I created my first eBay account 10 days ago and listed some clothing and a couple text books. In the first few days I got buyers that attempted to buy two of my listed items but were blocked because they were flagged as suspicious buyers that may be using a fake account or something of that nature, the first red flag notifying me that eBay might be scam riddled and failing.

Then, a few days later I got an email notifying that my account has been "permanently suspended because we noticed activity that we believe is a risk to our community" of which I am so sorry to your community because I've endangered you by trying to sell some clothes and economics books. The email proceeds to use vague language telling me that I can't access my account and my listings were removed.
Of course I then come on this forum and other sites to find similar stories in the past year or so where people got no explanation from eBay in the same situation.

When I tried to find a customer service number to talk to someone, I got nothing but automated systems telling me to go online for customer service. The only communication source I could find was the "chat" where I waited to talk to a supposed real agent. That's when, two times, the agent clearly pasted a script that is sent to banned users and immediately ended the chat (screenshot below).
The second agent did give me this explanation when I asked "what will be done with my personal information I was required to divulge when signing up for my eBay account": Agent - "Those information will be saved on file however it won't be shared" and then sent the same script I got from the first agent and immediately ended the conversation.

How is this acceptable? How can anyone trust that their personal information (they have your social security number, bank account information, address) is safe on a platform that is apparently riddled with scamming to the point that a new user will immediately be removed from a brand new account and avoids contact with users? Amazing that this is a public company that tons of people still use yet operates as a black hole with files of our personal information. Absolutely insane.

OK, you need to go to the Ebay facebook page and ask there as that is where you can get answers. With the info you provided something is definitely not right. The Ebay team (employees), can look at your account and see why you got suspended.

That is the original acct, it is not suspended it is NARU - as OP said nothing sold, no feedback, registered 07/21, regd US - very strange

Would a family memeber actually admitt it?  Admitt to stealing and scamming eBay out of $500....  That is the most likely scenario.  Could be a teenage sibling or something a parent did 15 years ago.

     So sorry this happened to you but very much appreciate all the information and detail you provided to help the individuals on this forum try to see if they could determine what happened to your account. There have been a few similar postings related to account deletions lately. Given it's a data mining sofware program, not a person, that is scanning and tagging the accounts it is possible that eBay has some issues with their data mining code that is erroneously tagging and deleting accounts. It would not be the first time eBay has had software problems. 

     While I realize that is of little comfort there is probably little recourse at this point for that account. This account however does not seem to have been effected or at least not yet. You may want to try setting up another account without posting any listings and see if you can purchase some small insignificant item(s) to get a toe hold on a new account and then move towards selling. EBay is infamous for its one sided support to the buyers and the bot data mining software may be geared to focus more on the seller accounts.

You were in managed payments or you wouldn't have complained about eBay having your banking info.

This is likely one of the security features of Managed Payments.  They can link accounts behind the scenes from all sorts of personal information.

Has anyone ever used your computer to log into their eBay account?     No know way to "worm" the reason out of eBay.

I manage three eBay ID's. Two are my personal eBay stores and the third is for my employer. I access all three accounts at work, home, and android. eBay knows all the IP addresses I use, where I use them and what device I access them from.

You can't fool eBay. 🙂

Had my two-day old seller account nuked today for being “similar to other fraudulent accounts”.  No further details, but basically it was suspended “just in case”.

Weird, especially when one considers I only had a single product listing that was still stuck in drafts and it was a product I patented and had manufactured. Maybe they thought it looked like something prohibited?

Wish I hadn’t given them all my personal info, that’s for sure.

I too tried to list just 2 things that were authentic an eBay deemed the purse counterfeit. They wanted me to have t eh certificate of authenticity or bill of sale. It is vintage, I no longer have it. But, I scanned others listings for the Coach purse and they don’t have it. I have been a long time customer of EBay, but I am done giving them my business. Plus, who wants to be labeled  a cheat and liner. Good luck to you.

Got all that same email the problem is with me is eBay has money from my buyer and I just sent my product off to the buyer and came home and this was on my eBay. So now the product is being sent to the person and eBay is keeping my money and that other person is not paying me how is that right? A letter is going off to the FTC because this is definitely a horrible scam eBay thing. They didn't send me anything until after UPS scan the barcode showing it's being sent my product and then I get home and all the sudden my account is permanently suspended and I can't get a hold of anybody either but yet they have my money.

My guess is that you got mixed up in a scheme to create fake accounts. Since you are a new user yourself, it is assumed you are part of the scheme, either by bot or human.

Some of these schemes to create inauthentic accounts are quite complex and can involve many, many fake users.

If you can prove you are legit, you may be able to get back on.

Unfair. I do not think eBay wants to admit they have serious security issues.
