Accepted Best Offer, Buyer Sends Message Doesn't Want Item~Purchased Another

I accepted a best offer and 12 hours later I got this message...

"I m sorry but I can t take bracelet. My cousin found exact one for 55. I hope you understand. I love the bracelet but 30 is a lot less. It s a gift for my mother. Sorry about this. Let me know if it s a problem. Thankyou "

I know I can cancel transaction, though she hasn't asked me to.
Or I can open an unpaid case, when she doesn't pay.

Feeling annoyed with some buyers lately.
Wish all members took the time to read all rules and policies of ebay.
It's really not that difficult.
My little rant for the day....smiley face.

File UPI and Block. Do not converse. The buyer has indirectly canceled by saying she found it cheaper and bought it there, so you should be OK to cancel, but I would just UPI her and block.

Make them request the cancel, or eBay will defect you.

I'd reply to the message, asking her to please confirm that she wants to cancel the order.

If you go the UPI route, she could pay and then cause problems down the road.

It's certainly annoying, but I never try to force a sale when the buyer has communicated that they don't want the item.

I use Immediate Payment, and it costs me a Paypal transaction fee to cancel and refund, but it's worth it to me to avoid potential problems from trying to force a sale.

The intent of the message is pretty clear.  Buyer says she no longer wants to buy it.

Cancel using buyer requested, relist it, and move on.

I hadn't decided on which route to take. Thinking cancelling would be best for both of us.

I have cancelled in the past, requested from buyer for a good reason.

And also have filed unpaid, usually when there is no communication from buyer.

Thanks for all of your imput.

@moo*cow*corner

All my BIN is immediate payment required. However, best offer voids that.

Yup. That's one of the reasons I don't use Best Offer. If a buyer makes an acceptable offer through ebay messages, I tell them I'll adjust the price manually and they can purchase as usual.

Yes they will just like if a buyer communicates to a seller after a purchase your star is dinged.  Ebay assumes it is a problem when in fact the buyer may just want to wait for seller to ship if they are out of town.  It is nuts.

Re: Accepted Best Offer, Buyer Sends Message Doesn't Want Item~Purchased Another

Ordinarily I just cancel on request. However, a couple weeks ago I had a guy be a real jerk about the calculated shipping charge from Ohio to California on a 3 pound item. He used the words " I demand you cancel this order" and multiple swear words. So, just for fun I was going to give him a UPI.

Apparently that is no longer a thing. Ebay will cancel it for you with the only valid reason for not cancelling it being that you shipped it. At least if they request the cancellation in time.
