I sell small items that cost between $5 and $10. I've been thinking for a long time about how eBay's order tracking system can be so ridiculously complicated. To me, it feels like it was designed 20 years ago and never updated since.
If I sell 10 items and Customer1 buys each (in auctions and each product he pay separately) of them separately, the system shows 10 separate "Orders" listed one after another. Since other customers (Customer1-5) are also placing orders in the meantime, I can't easily see how many products each individual customer has actually purchased.
Searching is possible, but not by name—only by username. So Customer1, who has username1, makes things even more confusing in an already chaotic system.
Why is there no simple way to view Customer1's order history, including what they have purchased, how much they have paid, and what I have already shipped to them? I suggest a full review and redesign of the system to make it more user-friendly.

Well, then quute frankly it looks like you are just not using the tools already available. See the
following picture.
In Block A you can sort by order history by sold items ready to ship, sold items already shipped, and other parameters.
In Block B you can search by EITHER user name OR buyer’s name.
Combine Block A and B in the same search you can limit the results to a specific buyer’ history.
In block C you can pre-sort by buyer’s name.

You can also use the "Print Bulk Labels" just to see if you have any orders that need combined. If you don't want to actually buy the labels, just hit cancel.
It will automatically show if there is any potential to combine shipping locations to a buyer.
