ALL CAPS or normal

At first glance of listings, does an all caps title seem more engaging than normal titles?

Capitalizing the first character in each word looks OK for a title.

I use and like this option. FYI it is called Proper Case and is used for titles and headers.

I dislike all caps titles and will not bother to look at the listing. Just my 2 cents.

Re: ALL CAPS or normal

OH NOOOOOO! For 25+ years I've used all caps on my listings only to find today that I'm either "lazy", "don't know the internet", "desperate" or "screaming at everybody"

No wonder my ebay journey has been a dud, I been schooled

Re: ALL CAPS or normal

To me, Capslock use equals a fast pinkie on the BACK button;  the seller is an idiot.  Even if he or she is fine, allcaps = illiterate tool.  To me it's screaming.   Then again,  I also go back on computers to the Usenet days, pre-graphic interface.  A major poet named e.e. cummings used all lowercase deliberately, and while I was never fond it worked in his poetry.  It's not recommended for eBay titles.

Many experienced and successful sellers use all caps, including Sextons who posted here.

But OP asked if it were recommended and I still have to say that it is not recommended, for the reason given.  That doesn't mean using all caps dooms a seller, or that using upper and lower case is his road to riches.

On the other hand, instead of a mere 40K items sold, you might have had 42K, and Sextons might have had 13.5K  😄  😄

Re: ALL CAPS or normal

I've been using all caps too in my titles for the last 20 years.  That's how we did it back in the day.  To me it still looks normal.  Not in the text or anywhere else, just the titles.  I know they say all caps isn't good, so I've been trying to tone it down and add some small letters as well.

So that's why my sales are so bad now?  It couldn't be that Oreo cookies (regular size bag) are still almost $7.00 in my grocery store, could it?   😀

"Kuntry Kute Krap style"   LOL

I always cringed when I saw that.  Back in the day, when I started selling 20 yrs. ago, there were lots of titles like that in all categories.  But I rarely, if ever, see it anymore.  Maybe they're learned.  It was indeed a "stupid mix" ridiculous looking & juvenile, like when the kids used to write notes to each other in class.  Always back button for me on those listings.  I forgot about that! 😀
