Here is a perfect example of why you should not worry about your listing(s) getting zero views. Anything I have listed that has zero views is, of course, going unsold & void of offers. However, I have 1 listing that started with 3 views & 3 watchers. Now it is up to 8 views & 4 watchers. No sale & not a single offer. If it is not sold, the outcome is the same. $0.00 in your pocket. eBay is becoming a great site for window shoppers. Good luck to all. 🙂

You can't have a sale without a view, you can't pay your bills without a sale.
That's not entirely true. I've sold many things that according to the view counter had no views. You can't trust the view counter, that's why I removed it from view years ago.

If it isn't too much trouble, I would really love to see 1-2 examples of my prices compared to others. I feel I post items that have almost 0 competition. Some items do depend on condition. I just hope you are not like @coolections who will point out my listing, that could be from 1967 & made by THIS company and, wants to compare it's value to something made in 1979 from THAT company. lol Cheers!

The good news for you is if you are getting that many views without a sale that means buyers do not want to pay your asking price. You can adjust until someone IS willing to buy at the correct price.
Windows has not been available for hundreds of years... Back then they used MSDOS (LOL!).

Not if they don't buy anything.
You can have all the views you want, but if they don't buy anything, it's not going to make a difference or pay any bills.
Have you notice how many have posted about selling an item, but having no views on it?
Now, if you have a store, people don't have to view the listing to buy the item, just buy from the pop up.

No, you don't need a volume of traffic, you need that one buyer looking for the item you have listed.
If you have 1000 views, but no one bought the item, what good did those views do you?

Someone controls everything. if they don't need you, you can feel it. 😔

I also noticed the more watchers the more ridiculous the asking price is. Most just are curious to see if the item ever actually sells. Just type any item and switch to highest first. The top 3 usually have tons of watchers but sit for years.
That is true whether the price is ridiculous or the item is truly rare and valuable and beyond the reach of most of those watchers.
Would certainly accept that you are correct much of the time. Ebay is not my venue for the truly rare or valuable unless I have bidders to invite, and when that is the case, I have used the Private Auction feature.

I also don't concern myself with views.
If you have thousands of views but the item did not sell, would that be a good thing or a bad thing?

It would be a terrible thing. 1,000 people viewing and not a single person wanted it. That would be a total waste of your time and the person looking at it. I could never imagine even having something with more than 500 views without a sale.

Just because you get that many views, it doesn't mean the lookers were interested in buying the item.
I look at listings all day that I'm not interested in buying, so what good do my views do, but raise the view count?

I've had this happen, but we all know a real person had to view an item before buying...more eyeballs equal more sales.
08-02-2023 12:26 PM
You should, because a 1 view should equal one set of human eyes as opposed to one bot. My point is that we should all be concerned to have eyes on our items.

@kensgiftshop I've never had more than 200 views without a sale. Too me, maybe just me, but views mean everything. No views mean no desire. Too many views means too high a price. Everyone's take is different. I typical sell desirable items so things typically sell faster than any view count could ever accumulate. Items with zero views goes straight to donation pile.

I posted a new item today. A big ticket item (pun intended? - you decide. lol) listed both on eBay & Marketplace. I place it here first. So far - 1 view. Approaching 70 views on FBM. LOL!
