At least for me, Ebay is now mostly for lookie-loos, with many questions, but almost never than buy. They also wan't garage sale or less prices, with free shipping thrown in to boot. I can't tell you how many questions I have answered recently, mostly with afirmative answers as far as what they are looking for, that end up going nowhere. Additionally, prices just seem to be cratering more by the day. I'm once again going on a buying freeze (for inventory) until the site can prove itself. I spent approx. $100 yesterday on inventory, which will likely take me a long while just to recover my costs. Will this never ending downward spiral ever reverse itself. I for one am not optimistic. Sorry to be a downer on a Friday, but just calling it like I see it.

Pour yourself a nice cool drink on the rocks. Go put your feet up it will get better.
Hope it turns around for you soon.

A million questions, but they never buy
I ask questions all the time. Most times the answers confirm that an item is NOT what I am looking for.

I would argue you are are looking for your inventory to prove itself.

Window shopping...we all have those kind of buyers who are just window shopping.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of sales of clothing and a surplus in the stores (online).
I always wonder why a seller doesn't sell a shirt with shorts(something) as one item...could be something to try.
The shipping would be better for the buyer and cheaper. Could be fun to match 2 items for a buyer.
I don't know if other sellers do it.

Meanwhile, my experience is the exact opposite: I find that the potential buyers who ask me questions almost always end up buying. I just had one the other day, in fact-- they asked me a question, I answered it, and then they purchased just a couple of hours later.

I have had a couple recently of the buyer/sellers who bombard with one question after another, real fast, while mixing in an offer hoping you jump on the offer. I think they try to confuse or rattle the seller. Last one was for a $290 listing that was a lot of 9. Buyer offered $200, I countered with $250. Buyer declined and was gone as fast as he came in.
Put the item on sale for $232 for 3 days. Had a watcher. Nothing.
Someone bought it today for $290.......
Just finished answering some questions on an $1,100 item. Buyer wants a certain picture of a sticker on the box. Was a little late to be trotting out to the shop. He gets priority right after I make coffee in the morning.
Questions are not a bad thing though most want a deal, for sure.

What kind of questions do you get? Is there a consistent theme? Is it across the board or more from certain categories?
If you put a hold on new inventory then you can be assured that the downward spiral will continue maybe even gathering speed as the stale non-sellers transform into rotten non-sellers.

As a part time seller, average 2-3 sales per day.
I often go weeks/months without being asked a single question.
