A Bid was retracted with no explanation. The listing is an autographed football program.
How Do I find out the EBay name of the Bidder?
I KNOW a Bid was made. It appeared on my Seller's Active page. Then the Bid disappeared and the Listing shows "0" in the Bid History.
I want to message the Bidder to find out why the bid was retracted. Is my lasting in error? Does the Bidder dispute the authenticity of the autograph?
ALL help is appreciated!

I'm not sure that's possible. It doesn't really matter, it wouldn't get you anywhere. It's best to move on.

Bidders are not really required to give a reason for their retractions.
There are reasons given, but they are not enforced, nor should they be.
Do YOU think there is an error in the listing? If not, maybe the buyer sobered up, or the cat bid on it, or they changed their mind, or they suddenly realized they would not be home when the product would likely arrive, or their spouse cut their allowance.
Any number of things that have nothing to do with your listing.
To prevent this happening in future, use Fixed Price /Immediate Payment Required. If the customer changes their mind, the listing remains active until somebody does.
Just as your Auction remains active until it ends.
I notice that of your 73 current Auctions only one has a bid at the moment and of the 16 completed Auctions only one had more than one bid.
So maybe auctions are not the best choice for your products.

Why do you feel the need to contact the bidder? For whatever reason, he doesn't want your item and certainly doesn't need you to question him. Your concerns about what he's thinking make me question the item. Do YOU question authenticity of the autograph? Are YOU sure your listing is accurate?

For some unknown reason, you seem fixated on the idea that the buyer who withdrew his bid thought your autographed item was fake. Not sure why you think that. As someone else mentioned, there can be many reasons for that. So you want to block this buyer who was interested in your item and might be interested again, at a time and place when buyers are in short supply?
BTW, you don't need his actual name to block him if that's what you insist on doing.

Did you look in the Bid History?
If there is a current bid it will show the Bidders ID to the seller. For the owner of the account the User ID will be fully visible. For anyone else (like me) it is disguised. Not sure if it will still show the Bidders ID of a canceled bid.
I checked all your Football programs and did not see any that had a cancelled bid. What is the item number of the one that had the bid cancelled?

Why? They may have had a perfectly good reason for cancelling their bid. Maybe they saved you from selling it to someone that couldn't pay because something else came up that required their attention immediately. Or maybe they were called out of town on a family emergency. Or any number of reasons, none of which is something a seller has the right to know.
It is best just to move on.
