Why should eBay get to decide a 5% minimum for sending an offer? There should be no minimum, and I should get to decide, not eBay. Anyone else agree?

Low ball offers are far worse. Again, my items are always sold a little lower than everyone else. This is not as black and white as you think. The 5% minimum offer hurts good sellers, who are not greedy.

This issue is not that simple. You must be a seller who sells for crazy high prices. So, the 5% minimum might work, sometimes. However, for good sellers like me, who always tries to sell items for a little less than everyone else, it hurts us. The 5% minimum offer is a broken system.

Actually, I did my research on it, an checked for another unopened one, and I changed it accordingly. I posted that when I first started. I always try to sell lower than every one else. Which is why the 5% minimum is a broken system. It hurts the few good sellers, like me.

It's not an insult when I always try to sell lower than everyone else. It hurts good sellers. You all are seeing this as black and white. When it's more complex than that. Most people on here, are way too greedy. So, the 5% minimum for offers might help them, sometimes.

I agree sellers should decide for themselves what to offer. In all honesty, my experience with offers has been if you are not giving  it away buyers are not interested. Most want something for close to nothing. So, I feel most offers unless 75% off go nowhere in today's economy.

If you want to lower your price by 1% or 2%, eBay will not stop you from doing so.

But neither will eBay send messages to your watchers alerting them to your price change.

If you want to be able to send an offer to your eligible watchers, you must meet eBay's requirements to do so.

Perhaps there are buyers out there that would jump at the chance to receive a 2% offer, but if so they are not exactly making their presence known.

Not really. We can decide for them, if everyone demands it. Watchers and sending offers is a waste of time, and space. 99% of the time, no one ever accepts. Then watchers just stick up on your items and do nothing. Waste of time and space.

16 Months later and you are still harping on this?

You've been told that 5% off is way too small to entice anyone to buy and that is why you are now complaining that this tiny discount isn't getting you any results.

If you feel it is a waste of your time then maybe you should reconsider your position on offer percentages or of course you could just stop sending them out.
