I had 4 sales within 10 days. Sort of. 1 was not paid for. 1 was cancelled after an hour because I'm in Canada. Will my next 4 sales actually equal 4 sales? lol 50% completed sale rate won't keep me around very long. Saying 2 sales is better than none doesn't improve the situation. Do you think any seller is happy with a 'glass is half full' income? Good luck to all. 🙂

If the other 2 get returned, you'll have an empty glass.😀

Oh great, reason #483 that you "won't be around very long."

Sure, plenty of people would be happy to have two sales. Negative people would focus on the nonpayment and the canceled order. A positive person would be relieved that he doesn’t have to deal with the flaky buyer that doesn’t pay, and glad that the buyer canceled made the decision before the item was shipped.
Seriously – those two orders are a good thing. Not as good as four orders, but it is two more than you would’ve had if the items weren’t listed.
Thankfully, eBay is not your livelihood. Even if it was, obviously, you know what you’re doing. If that’s the best thing you can do, be happy with it.

The trade negotiations between the US and Canada are not going well.
I wish I could be optimistic but many buyers are frightened by a potential bill when the order arrives.

Nonsense - of course you will stick around. In fact a review of your postings shows that you average a new thread every few weeks about How Bad Things Are and how you are ready to quit Any Day Now if Things Do Not Improve. Maybe try branching out into other areas to sell in and see how that goes.

Half full is better then an empty glass.

I am still getting buyers from Canada.
I contacted one who said he wasn't concerned with the mail strike.
So, I stopped contacting buyers and just mail items out.
Can I assume standard envelopes without tracking are getting through Canada?

You must be onto something. I use to get at least 4 or 5 Canadian orders a week. Now I get 1 or 2 a week.

You didn't have 4 "sales", you had at best 2 sales which is better than no sales at all.
I'm sure you have heard the expression "don't count your chickens until they hatch", there is a similar one for merchants (eBay or elsewhere) "Don't count your sales until the money is in the bank and the buyer has received their order and is happy".

I've had only 2 going to Canada this year. And that's pretty bad. Last year I shipped 30 or so.

Quit your complaining.
At least you have a normal Prime Minister. 😉

I suspect many eBay sellers are thankful they also are not dependent upon eBay for their livelihood

Thankfully I only depend on ebay sales for luxury items such as food and gas. 😉
