4 hours to go...

It's almost 8:00 PM Hawaii time.

So far I'm having a 0 sales day.

If I don't get a sale in the next 4 hours, I'm coming back to complain.  😉

My sales have been like a roller coaster since I started selling vintage back in 2013. I will go sometimes ten days without a sale, even when the economy was good.

Who can I blame?  Should I blame the Democrats? The Republicans?  The Russians? Trump? Obama? Ebay? Amazon? Boomers? Millennials? The tornadoes we had the other day?

It certainly couldn't be the fact that I sell in a niche category with an overall minuscule amount of buyers comparatively?  Naaaw, it can't be that.  I'll just go with Ebay. Yep, it's their fault.

So should I repeat this post again tomorrow?

@inhawaii   Blame it on the volcano, I haven't seen that one yet.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Are you that U tuber that puts out a video almost every day complaining about having no sales in the middle of the night for 5 hours?

While you may be joking, some of us don't think it's all that funny.

I'm glad you are doing well. If I was using eBay as a full time income, I would be gone by now. eBay definitely has more control of your traffic then many here want to lead on.

While I get what you are poking fun at, and agree with it on some level, not every complaint is illegitimate. I'm not one to run around bashing eBay, but there are definitely things that don't seem to work right and it costs sellers putting in the work.

Indeed.  Which was kind of the point I was making above.  This is me for the last 31 days...

Like I said then, I'm one of those "hobbyist sellers" working off of using about 1/2 to 2/3 of my free listings per month.  I really can't complain too much, but if I was laying out money on a virtual store front every month, I'd be complaining pretty heavily as I would be having an expectation for some return for paying that money out.   Course it doesn't help either morals or bottom line to see items like mine getting sold and wondering if mine are even getting any visibility (and for most part they aren't).

Of course, my problem too was that for a long time I was getting this kind of result *and* needing to clear money on ebay as full-time income.  Which was highly depressing.

That said, I really don't have a lot of motivation to go out and get new items simply because the failure rate on the old items is so high.  Mainly planning on knocking down my closet and my current items and then going buyer-only on my account.  At some point, ebay's gotta fish or I gotta cut bait.   One of the two.

@inhawaii   LOL, that's a good one ... and here I thought that maybe it was just because you haven't found anybody on the island there who really understands you ... so would that mean having a cookout and inviting the neighbors would be out of the question?

Do you know ebay charges us a fee on the shipping?

Did you know they charge a fee for sales tax

I'm also going to be looking in to a class action lawsuit.

I'll join you, I have so much **bleep** evidence against them, from messages from buyers who claim item is not delivered and the buyer messaged me telling me the steps an ebay rep did for them to open a case and hold my money for over a week till ebay eventually refunded them out of their pocket, and yes they do collect interest on held payments which is illegal and we, the sellers, deserve a piece of that pie. It is our money and ebay is making bank off of millions of dollars being held site wide daily. Ever since I threatened them with a lawyer over these issues, my sales went from 5k a month to 1-2k a month. The reps talk all smug to you like you're doing something wrong and I even called them out on why were they the only site not advertising during the holidays, all other sites had commercials, ebay had none, but a rep mentioned they have the ebay motors commercial on the radio...well la de da, does my store have motors, or how many stores are in ebay motors compared to the rest of the site. Their marketing team needs to be fired. Also buyers lost all incentive to purchase on this site since ebay bucks are only 3 days a month now.
