2nd attempt so, PLEASE HELP.! Cause the more I can prove, the faster & higher eBay's gonna jump.!

Hello,

I'll try to keep it as short as possible and for those thinking & probably about to say "Ya Right.! eBay isn't gonna jump to help anything.!" here's why they definitely will, or at least it would be in their best interest to fix this and fast.

I apologize in advance for a lengthly post however if you care about how much money your making right now, I am not kidding that this issue in the system, could be a financial problem for you too cause I've already proven that it's a financial one for me AND ALSO is for eBay, just how big is the question, So I need y'all to try some stuff, and yes if it takes begging to get you too do so, then consider me a begging fool, but I've already lost around $100 during the last 2 months.

Some background... In October new shipping rates were published as they do annually, and so at that time I revised the shipping policy that 95%+ of my listings use, and raised the cost buyers pay just a little by 50 cents. However even though the warning stating "Saving these changes will affect every listing using this policy", the revision didn't "READILY" take on roughly 90% of my listings however some did change and clearly at least on the back end, the new cost was accepted & holding in the system while simultaneously still showing in most listings the previous old amount I was charging buyers. I previously complained about this in 2 lengthy sessions with CS Reps, basically gave them a **bleep** road map to everything but nothing happened & even tho I was told it would be passed to the Tech Team, well apparently the issue never was passed along and so nearly every sale of mine in 2 months was charged 50 cents less for the shipping which affects my bottom line but also eBay's, which could be a HUGE amount of money because the final value fees for my sales would be higher for them. Yes I know we are only talking cents here on average about 8 cents each sale, but multiply that by a million users possibly and each one of their sales.?!

I need people to go into their shipping policies and try to make an edit or change to a shipping policy which a number of listings use, best bet would be the cost buyers pay, and then go and check if other listings that utilize that same police updated to show the newly changed cost. PLEASE, it might just be an ego thing but I wanna make eBay work for their money and get them to jump as high and as far as I can. LOL SO PLEASE TRY REVISING A SHIPPING POLICY WHICH YOU SHOULD BE WARNED THAT ALL LISTINGS USING THAT POLICY WILL BE AFFECTED BY THE CHANGES MADE. And then come back and report.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE EVERYONE.!

And I noticed there was seemingly only one way to finally get the new cost changes I made, to show up in a specific listing, but it's a pain in the butt and time consuming. Right now I only wanna know if anyone else is seeing that changes to a bulk shipping policy are not populating throughout every listing that uses that policy.

Thank You

*Correction*

we're actually probably only talking a cent or 2 for each sale if not only fractions of a cent from each sale but if you've seen OFFICE SPACE, anybody seen my stapler.!?? Then you should already know even fractions of a cent can add up for someone like eBay in no time at all. Yes that's only if other Users made cost edits to any of their shipping policies and unfortunately hadn't noticed yet that there may be a problem.

And just to inform anyone who cares, the only way I can get the correct cost to populate in any given roughly 750 that didn't do so automatically, was by going into each individual listing and ONLY via the eBay app and once in the listing revision tool, scroll down to shipping, notice the initial cost being charged to buyers and the policy number #26 which has the correct cost even in the policy title, and having to select a different policy and then go back in and reselect the correct policy, did the correct cost finally populate. only 749 more to go if I care about receiving all the money I should be.

Why not use calculated shipping? or flat shipping, why too many policies?

I have no idea why so many policies show up when the drop-down opens, I only utilize maybe 5 different ones total. But I guess the best answer would be more control I suppose. I don't care where someone is located in the country honestly, it's not like it's much of a difference cost wise to ship right down the street versus across the country. So I just charge a flat rate for First class package service. Now international I definitely utilize the calculation based system to figure those costs with a very small added handling to charge.

I honestly don't look at any policy, I just guestimate the weight packaged with approx. dimension when listing the item or use first class. After shipping thousands of items, shipping is the least of problems.

Ya your right, and I don't even have to think about it usually because everything I have set is still cost based plus a percentage if you think about, But I do my weighing when I make the listing or if its under 4oz I don't care and just set every light item like that to 4 oz. if someone buys multiple then I combine costs for them, I actually have to do less this way in my opinion then the way you are speaking too. I like my actual time spent packaging and shipping the items to be the least possible. But to each their own and if that way works for you then thats all that matters.

But with that said, I easily go above and beyond most sellers at least sellers of similarly like items as mine, when it comes to care in packaging those items.

Were you on the phone?

The phone reps don't work for eBay but for a contractor working out of Utah.

The actual employees cover eBay's social media accounts.

https://www.facebook.com/eBayForBusiness/ — Message button in upper right on landing page.

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/How-do-I-contact-Customer-Support/m-p/32016431#M1783851 -> Automated Assistant, type AGENT -> enter. You will then get more options.

At least for your higher priced items, if you are using a Tracked service, which seems sensible, move to Calculated Shipping instead of Flat Rate.

The shipping fee will then automatically change when the shipper's fees rise.

I just guestimate the weight packaged with approx. dimension

Rather than trying to do a bulk change, since that has not worked for you, try changing the two dozen items that close each day as they come up.

This also allows you to review the listings for any other errors or omissions.

Shout outs to eBays social Media team as I tell them every time I reach out, their literally the best employees eBay has. Would never use anything else although, they already seemingly dropped the ball on this issue twice. now

Even though I wasn't looking for a solution, I actually did not go through all this trouble 3 times without trying something as your suggesting. Between the 1st and 2nd time I reached out to eBay about this, the system stopped saving any changes ANY Changes for me that I made in any form or by any means that I tried. luckily after the 2nd time I reached out, the system was saving some changes like only single listing specific changes, I appreciate your comment I truly do because you were only trying to help find a solution but not exactly what I needed but again thank you, I appreciate your time.

And when I say system I am only speaking to Shipping Policy Changes, the larger listing revision tool was working other than the shipping section.

Guys, If I used cost based first class package service I would actually be taking in a little less money for shipping costs than I am now even. And I account for anything and everything used in shipping packages, Paper & ink, Bubble mailers, Foam, Tape, The actual Costs plus tracking, any applicable insurance costs plus others. If I did cost based, it would be current cost based and nothing more. Make sense why I use a policy.?
