24 wait before listing is viewable by anyone. What's the point?

One day listings end before the product even goes live, so what is the point in that feature in the first place?

What's the point in 3 day listings if a whole day of that is wasted too?

On numerous occasions I if a buyer cancels an order I I then lose the next 24 hours of visibility and sales. Same happens if I end a listing early for any reason, it's then the day after next until I can list again.

It's only been since Managed Payments this has started blighting our ability to sell. Question is, why? inconvenience 99.9% of sellers while they go after 0.01% scammers?

The point is that 1 and 3 days listings get ebay an extra dollar.

Newer sellers tend to see delays in when their listings go live.   Once you become an established and regular seller, you will generally see your listings go live within minutes.

There is rarely any point to 3 day Auction listings, there never was as it's mostly the domain of scammers and sellers trying to fly under the radar.

eBay considered eliminating them at one time but decided not to upset the apple cart and just added a surcharge to discourage use instead.

I've opened an Amazon seller account today and waiting for video verification tomorrow.

eBay has become so hostile to traders it's really not worth the extra 2% savings in Amazon fees. I think they want it to end up like Alibaba
