After 21 years ebay still treats me like im a new customer.   Sold 2 items to the same buyer, I get paid out for one and am told the other is on hold for 30 days for not more than the amount (3800).   After 21 years ebay has not figured out how to treat long-time customers better.  While I B---ch about their ridiculous fees this is another reason to cancel EBAY.  Ebay gets their money!!!   But customers have to wait until Ebay sees fit to pay them!!!??

Well you may not be a new seller but you are a very infrequent seller who sold two high priced items recently.  I am surprised that they have not held the funds on both items for 30 days given (1) the risk for Ebay if they release your finds and the buyer demands a refund and (2) given the amount of fraud on Ebay.  If this is a reason to "cancel" Ebay then just  go ahead.  But don't go into the real business world where waiting 30 days for payment is the norm.

It's  explained in Payment Holds that payments for items valued over $1000 may be held 30 days.

Some say they want to make sure the money's there if there's a refund situation.

When sellers don’t constantly show their commitment, eBay forgets about them and the seller has to reintroduce themselves.

Infrequent or new sellers will always have holds placed on their sales. Once eBay’s Money Back Guarantee times out, you’re that much closer to payout day.

Ebay has had a rule for many years that pertains to New Seller and sellers that have been away from selling for 90+ days. The following is the policy that outlines why you money is likely on hold.

Forget the cheerleading, OP.   It's blatantly just another way for eBay to add new revenue streams (your interest) in their race to commit corporate hari kari.

There's your mistake right there...... to eBay you are not a customer, you are a number.  A number with a bank account attached.  You are a revenue source, nothing more.

I know you love to call others names.  Especially if their point of view doesn't match yours.  But the info offered to the OP on this issue was neither an opinion or a statement of a personal position on the rule.  It is simply a FACT.  A rule that Ebay has had for years.

But I get it, to you if someone can explain why something happened or is happening within the rules of Ebay, they are a "cheerleader" to you.  Doesn't make any sense, but you are pretty consistent between threads.

FYI Ebay does not earn interest on held funds.  They have published that in public statements as well as on some of the policy pages.  I know it is a way for you to throw a little mud and hopefully get someone upset, but it has no truth to it.  BTW, Ebay doesn't actually hold the funds, Adyen does.

You might remember that in 2015 just a couple months after Ebay and PayPal split, PayPal LOST a law suit regarding interest earned on held funds.  Ebay isn't going to risk that.  They already know they would lose.  Maybe a little more research on your part is in order unless the truth doesn't matter.

IMHO you are being a bit unfair.  You are a casual seller that takes big breaks in between selling.  Ebay has a duty to ALL its members to keep the site as secure as possible.  It is Ebay's responsibility to do the best they can to protect both you and everyone else.

When an account isn't used for awhile, it is a target for getting hacked / taken over by people with ill intent.  Ebay is protecting you too.  You may not like it, but it is true.  And Ebay has to protect your buyers.  They have an obligation to make sure all is well.  Because while you are upset and mad, there are situations just like this that don't turn out well for a buyer because the account was taken over by thieves.  Try to look at it from both sides.
