1st I am very much against the GTC policy change and apparently reading the boards many feel the same. In trying to find a way to work with this I posted the following looking for help from someone @ebay or a community member. After posting this before anyone could reply, the board was closed...so here goes again:
Will using new out of stock option result in being charged for a listing that is temp out of stock?
Thinking that maybe instead of ending before the auto relist comes up to switch to out of stock, then put them back in stock when I desire. At least then it would be like unsold and I can re-evaluate relist prices or dumping at my leisure
My questions though is are we being charged the entire time we are on the out of stock mode? and are these being shown to potential buyers but show as out of stock?

Your question has nothing to do with the latest update. It's a basic question bout how the "Out of stock" option works, which hasn't changed since it was introduced many years ago.
When a buyer purchases the last item from a multi-item fixed price listing which has the "Good until canceled" format, if the seller has the OOS option the quantity will go to zero but the listing won't end. Instead, it remains active in OOS status. It will not be shown to buyers who do searches or who look up the seller's items. It will remain in OOS status until the seller changes the quantity, or if it remains at zero for 3 months it will end automatically.
All GTC listings, even those in OOS status, roll over every 30 days. When a GTC listing renews, it will use one of your free insertions if available and otherwise you are charged the regular insertion fee for a fixed price listing.

Thanks for your response. I associated my post with the update since I am trying to find ways to work around the GTC policy in the update....but it seems I will be best just to end listings prior to the 30 days. Since I get free but also pay for insertion its a matter of not wanting to pay 2x per month on the insertion fees that I do pay. I thought placing items on Out of stock would work in its place, guess not.
