20 year seller, account restricted and unable to contact ebay

Has anyone  had this problem and  were you able to rectify?  I have an account temporarily locked due to a failed third  party  attempt to access.  in following the contact protocol the  only option i can select is call us and when i do  the greeting acknowledges an issue with my 20 year old account and says it will connect  me with a team member  but then the pre recorded  message  kicks in advising  me to go back to the  online  help options and  hangs  up.   I cant chat  or email.  it only allows me to call and forces me back to the same call number. have tried twitter, no answer.  Seems to be no way i can get this rectified even though i have  never  lost  control of my account.  i just cant do anything with it. Thanks for any help anyone can share.

upon selecting  have us call you it tells me the  best way to help with my problem is to call us. upon doing  so i get the phone  number to ebay  but when calling it  says  it will connect  me to a team member  but then advises to go  back to online  help. email and chat do not work, says  i must call.  I am hoping it is call volume with a  less than full staff and am going to try again first thing tomorrow morning.

Ah ha. I didn't think of that.

Any possibility of being able to call from another number?

I have always  had the  opposite experience. ebay has always provided  great service. once  I was able to speak to someone  the  problem was fixed in seconds. amazon is a different story

I have always had the opposite experience also. eBay has been good to me, they always take care of my issues. Even, in this pandemic them took care of me. It took an CSR to call me, but, like you, it was fixed in seconds.

Like t hear the good stories!

Excellent news.  I'm confident that the Facebook reps are extremely busy since the call center isn't opened and it was a holiday weekend.

As a generic comment that is a bit over stated IMHO.  Without specifics it is hard to say what the problem may be.  Sometimes members think Ebay should do something about a given situation when it flies in the face of a policy Ebay has.  Sometimes we feel Ebay should make an exception for us and they just don't.  Other times it is that we don't agree with the policy and expect Ebay to help us and they don't.  And sometimes we get a CSR that just doesn't understand the issue at hand and screws everything up.  Other times we get a CSR that does understand and helps with the issue.  It is a real mixed bag.  Not always Ebay's fault that the member doesn't get the outcome they desired.  And other times Ebay does drop the ball.

You can't go by the threads.  As it typical in threads like these, they are people that are having issues, concerns, problems, need help or are just venting.  Much of the way a thread starts out, calling Ebay all kinds of names and accusing them of stuff, isn't the way it ends up.  But this is the nature of threads like these.  The feel good stories don't typically get all the pull or attention that the ones for issues.

You can also check the Cafe threads.  Those are more social related and it may help you to get a better feel for things sometimes.
