I get that these random gestapo inspections are necessary for eBay to keep itself free of scammers but...
-Why the HOLD to my Payouts?
-Why the sudden urgency for my action? especially the day after a crucial sale where I need my Payout in a timely manner?
Already with eBay Payout my Buyers, who benefit from my quick 2 -3 Day USPS Priority shipping, are usually enjoying their items while I languish waiting for eBay to first process (2 days) then snail mail my money electronically to my Bank Account (another 3 to 4 days).
So at 3 AM this morning my iPad was buzzing from several URGENT eBay alerts announcing my Payouts would be on hold pending a Performance Review AND my banking information needed verification.
Thinking it was a scam I went back to sleep only to wake up to the grim reality that eBay WILL review my ‘performance’ which I am told could take days to weeks. One brief look at my profile and you will see nothing but 5 star DSRs and 100% Seller Feedback over a 20 year spread.
Furthermore the Bank Account they need me to verify is the same one that I have verified multiple times before and have been using without issues on eBay for over 20 years!
Regarding their slow and dated Payouts system alone eBay would FAIL their own Performance Review from anyone who has done an easy electronic instant money transfer in the last 10 years!
Very confusing and unfair especially when I am a long time seller with consistent Positive Feedback and 5 Star DSR Feedback.

It's probably the price of the item that triggered the review?
Your other items were lower priced and all of a sudden you have a sale for $650.

You have been moved to managed payments: seems you may have problems with that and the checking account you are using.
When contacting ebay ask for a payment specialist...
Also had any violations???
Oh I would stop all listings until you get it straight.

Good advice. Anything you sell going forward without clearing this up will result in the payments being put on hold.

You were definitely flagged by something for a reason, what I don't know. It may be a problem with the buyer.
Have you shipped? If not, I would reconsider it.

Have you attached a checking account recently and verified all of that for e-Bay? Does your Seller account information match "exactly" the checking account name, address, etc?
Typically, you can clear this up really easily with e-Bay. Make certain your Selling account info matches everything you are attaching. If it does not, update it first, etc

”…One brief look at my profile and you will see nothing but 5 star DSRs and 100% Seller Feedback over a 20 year spread.”
Those are impressive stats, especially over a long period of 20 years.
But what does your seller dashboard say? Since Feedback and DSRs don’t count in a seller’s metrics, eBay does not use them to evaluate a seller’s standing.
Something triggered what looks like a security alert. Even though it is redundant and perplexing to provide info to eBay that they alteady have, i would follow their instructions to hopefully get to the bottom of the problem. Good luck, and hope this gets resolved in your favor.

Sorry, your years of service and perfect feedback don't really mean anything here.

Most likely. And it's not just eBay who does that kind of thing, either-- I once loaned a friend about $1,000 for emergency car repairs and PayPal flagged my account because my normal transaction amounts were always much smaller. Any time you suddenly start dealing in much larger amounts of money than usual, you're likely to get flagged for review... as you should be. They want to make sure it's not a hijacked account.

It was the almost $700 sale that caught ebay's eye.
As long as you're legit, you've got nothing to worry about. You'll get your payment a couple of days late, that's all.

Nothing to worry about? I currently have a hold for a new item i have sold multiple times my checking account is a verified business account. The fees have increased an EBAY seems to forget who their customer is as soon as this resolved im done with EBAY AMAZON and Facebook marketplace here i come. This is BUllS**T and there is no reason for it to be happening nothing has changed on my account or items sold.
