Its been 2 days and buyer isn't picking up the package at the UPS access point.
I already sent him a message to let him know and he just replied "thank you" . He has until August 27 . The buyer is also a seller and he has good standing (more than 5,000 review) but i still feel uneasy about this because its a $1000 order. What should i do if he doesn't pick it up ? How should i proceed?

Available for pickup counts as attempted delivery. If the buyer files a non-receipt claim, generally speaking you'd be covered by seller protections. Does the zip code on the last scan match the buyer's zip code?
Buyer has 5 more days to pick up - chances are they'll grab it over the weekend.

He has until August 27 .
Which is five days from now
If he doesn't pick it up, eventually it will be returned to you by the carrier.
And you get to keep the money.
EBay does not require the Seller to refund on an Undeliverable item.
A few caveats:
The Buyer is also covered by their Paypal Buyer Protection and by the chargeback provisions of the credit card they really used to pay.
The Seller may have to pay the carrier for return shipping.
Most sellers will refund the purchase price but not the shipping costs.

Buyer might do the 'item not received' and ask for a refund.
Don't email buyer anymore.
A few buyers have tried the 'item not received' and then pick up item on the last day hoping for a refund and free item.
Just sit tight and do nothing until after August 27th.

I don't see a $1,000 item sold.??
Did you ship with signature required? That may be why they have not picked up. That is good for you. If UPS operates like USPS, your item will be returned to you in time.

Odds are they are out of town or just busy. They maybe pick up only once a week. Really no need to worry about unknowns. You told them, they said thanks. Leave it be and see what happens.
