Bummer, a super favorite dress of mine that mysteriously languished forever finally sold... buyer has initiated a return.
Honest about the reason (doesn’t fit) and perfectly friendly message. She’s bummed herself, it’s a cool dress.
Curious, though - why are 10 days given to get it in mail?

Oh, I’m sure she’ll get it in the mail. She’s been very nice.

Honestly, though. I’m not angry - more bemused. Caught by surprise.
In your example you have until 11:59 PM (PT) on Tuesday to ship within your 2 day handling time provided Monday is not a Holiday. Practically, speaking you have to get your package scanned into the USPS system (meaning they have possession) before your local PO closes or your carrier picks up the package on Tuesday which ever is later. Scanned in on Wednesday would reflect a 3 day handling time that equals a not on time shipment. Hope this helps you see the light.
Used to have a 2 day handling time but in reality would always ship within 1 day, including Sat. or same day if possible or if requested - customers do like quick shipping. Once eBay required a one day handling for a TRS status we didn't have to make a change. As I see it I save no time whether I ship a package within one day or two days. If I wait to ship in two days if one of those life events get in the way then I'm screwed. Mom taught us to "Don't put off 'til tomorrow what you can do today." and "Can't never got anything done."
Ciao!
