10¢ charge for scheduling a listing

I have been using the scheduled listings so that my account can have something listed everyday, which I have heard repeatedly helps sales.  I've reached my 250 listings and am ready to buy the basic store subscription, thanks to a recent sale that covers the majority of the cost for 6 months.

The free scheduled listings go away and now cost 10¢, which to me, was 1 of the reasons I put the store off for a while longer.  It seems counterproductive to lose a benefit when committing to a store subscription, but I know it and grudgingly accept it, lol.

So, hearing that drafts get 'messed up' or sometimes totally lost, I'm leery of making drafts, then logging on 1 a day to make the listing active.  I'm wondering if there's a work around? Is that where 'listing assistants' come in?  Any recommendations?

When is the 10¢ charged?  Is it charged as soon as I hit the 'Schedule' button or when the listing goes active?  See where I'm going here?  If it's charged once the listing goes active, then I could continue as I have been, but scheduling the listings maybe a month out, then activating them from the scheduled listings page, instead of the drafts page?  All to save a dime, lmbo, but if that dime isn't a big deal, why does ebay charge it?

Thanks for reading my ventings and minutia, and for taking the time to answer if you do.

eBay no longer charges any sellers that scheduling fee; this was announced in the most recent seller update.

Back when there was a fee, it was charged when the listing went live. So if you scheduled a listing but then went in and edited it, removing the scheduled time, it would launch as soon as you saved it but there would be no fee for using the scheduler.

This is great they removed this fee for the auctions - I stopped using it when I realized I was being charged but this makes my life a lot easier.

OK. I was under impression that the scheduling fee was gone but just now, 7/9/23 I went to schedule a listing and it said it had a fee...didn't disclosed amount. Is it because I don't have a store yet? I'm on the cusp but am leaving the country for a month and don't want to start until I return.

It didn't disclose the amount? You should be able to click on the little "(i)" icon next to the price at the bottom of the listing form, which will open a popup with the list of charge(s) your listing will incur when starting.

Off topic , but I did have a giggle that the sale of  your copy of The Fountainhead will 'benefit charity'. That would make the old hypocrite fume.

Does the charge appear to apply to Auctions? The only auction you have seems to be for a low value modern booklet of postcards which may have been listed as an auction by mistake.

No; there's no fee for using the Scheduler option, whether you have a store subscription or not.

There is still a 10-cent fee for using the Scheduler to launch a Classified ad.

Yes!!! someone got the irony of the Fountainhead listing! I do very few auctions. I'm pretty sure my attempt at scheduling was a regular sale. Is there a way to move drafts to scheduled or just go in and "edit" to schedule?
