It's not about the seller. It's about the consumer sales. What are consumers paying? Forget about us. They don't care. They get their money, one way or another. The "big stores" selling on here aren't hit like us little guys.
Maybe eBay could rethink a fee schedule for stores doing under 5K or under 1K a year to help the entrepreneur??
Hey eBay, we are here trying to EARN some extra cash. Not give it away. Which it what you are basically doing to us. We are breaking even on our inventory.
People are not spending like 3 or even 2 months ago. Raising fees is not the answer. UNLESS of course the goal is to oust the home seller and just have big box and drop ship sellers on this platform.
Esty's fees are 9.5% plus $.25. If you have items that could be listed under the "vintage" category, try there.

All these improvements and increase fees mean nothing when other sites are poaching most of the next generation of buyers. Use the fees to buy up these upstarts, shut them down or merge them into eBay and bring their buyers here. The corporate world has been doing forever.

I have my fees set at 14.5% + $.40 and I still don't break even. After advertising or a 5, 10% discount. (yes i know how much I pay for each item, but when something sells, those fees always seem higher than 12.35% + .40. I try to add $5.00 to pricing for my labor. Basically that's $2.50 per hour for setting up a listing, photographing, editing.
Thanks eBay! You are showing us the love!

Yes very frustrating.
Just an fyi, I don't know where you are shipping from, if you use USPS.com. Click N ship, you can select business rates. eBay is just pulling their prices from the site and calling it "seller" discounted pricing. There is no special eBay shipping contract with USPS. If you use click and ship from home, you will get the same pricing. And eBay can't charge you a fee for purchasing the postage through them.
However, you can ship any size package. You can have postage materials shipped to you for free, via USPS.com (flat rate PADDED envelopes for example.)
You can also select ship by cubic measurements. Way cheaper than if you bring your box to the counter at USPS. FYI - these rates are only available via click n ship. They cannot honor those prices in store/person at USPS.

We do the work and eBayer gets paid. By the time we pay final value fees on the product, shipping and taxes, then pay the fees they want to do their job by promoting our items (I always thought that’s what they got paid for ) and the cost of the product then taxes at the end of the year what kind of profit is left for the seller’s? They are beginning to price themselves out of the market. What do they do new now? I know buyers get refunded for ridiculous claims and then we have to, pay the return shipping (I’m surprised they don’t charge us fees on the return shipping too… shhh I didn’t say that.

With ebay there is an inverse relationship between fees and customer service. How about hiring competent CS, train them on the policies and give them authority to make decisions. Ebay has the worst customer service I have even encountered. It's gotten to the point ebay does not even stand by their own written policies. Then you never get to talk to anyone in the decision making level and they cut you off with 'no reply' messges. In fact their lack of desire to uphold their own polices has allowed $$$ to be stolen from me and now they want even more!

Maybe ebay can use the increase to hire an IT team that knows what their doing, weekly if not daily glitches, programs that are time consuming and useless. They got 4 rate increase from USPS alone last year, that's not including fedex or UPS

Please remove the option for AI on listings for antiquarian and collectible books. It helps no one other than incompetent sellers who don't want to put in the five minutes of work to actually learn about what they are trying to sell.

Not trying to sound bad but.. I really assumed the rate would decrease... My sales have been down so much over the last years but yet the fees keep going up.. It is sad so many people / friends I know have stopped selling on ebay because they was going in the hole over the fees.

The fee updates, just may force me to stop selling on eBay, the antique market I am in gets shoppers from all over the US and their consignment fees are way less. Very disappointed.... waiting to see how this affects my final payout.

With the increased final value fees, will there be an increase of free listings per month from 250?

I think it's safe to say that NO ONE in todays economy wants to see a rate increase. But let’s be real honest...
eBay you are the platform which allows us to sell our items. Nothing more, nothing less.
Why you get a cut of the shipping and taxes is beyond me. Now you have polluted everyone's ads with the promoted ads from DESPERATE sellers, and now it’s truly like trying to find the TREE thru the forest. Forget your CSR's. Besides talking way too fast in some accent, as they try to read thru the script you have provided, they still don’t have a clue what they are talking about.
You want to add AI? Great. Why? Are the buyers and sellers that use it truly that lazy or ignorant they can’t type?
Please wave your mystical, MAGICAL wand, and remember...the SELLERS, not the buyers, are YOUR customers. But up there in the C-Suites, you truly fail to see that.
Now IF we as sellers, saw the improvements we have been asking for, for YEARS, and there were not the daily if not weekly glitches happening site wide, the increase would be palatable. But many of us see these issues daily, and our comments and or suggestions fall on deaf ears.
What used to be enjoyable, maybe even at times fun, has now turned into a chore, and we keep giving and giving, but are getting NOTHING other than the PLATFORM to sell, in return.
It’s been fun.
