Trying to remove a listing that is not selling.  Need to retake pictures and relist.

I read that i go to sell - active - click on the listing ... but then what

Go to your active listings page. Do not click on the listing. Under the actions column click the end listing link.

Hi @clearymoira 

You do not click on the item, you use the drop-down menu on the left of the item and select End listing.

Ended listings move to your Unsold file, go there next and use the Relist function which will open the listing tool and you can add new pics and make changes then Relist it.  Items remain in the Unsold file for 90 days unless Relisted or Deleted by Sellers.

Or you can retake your pics and then just revise the listing.  It might be easier.  Just an option.
