opened a store but they are not letting me list more than 5 items

I picked the standard 4.95 store program, received a   email message telling me I was good to go on 5/11 yet still telling me I can't list more items! No matter where  I go I am getting no where.

Listing limits still apply @mikadeals. If you're new to selling on eBay, it's sometimes good to wait until you've grown a bit before subscribing to a store. You can go here to learn more about selling limits though, and how to request an increase.

@mikadeals

It is not always clear to new sellers that a store is not required for selling on eBay. If you are on a month-to-month plan, rather than a subscription with an early termination penalty, I would recommend ending the store because there is no benefit at that level. Your listings will remain and you can still work with them. After accruing enough sales history that you can increase your selling limits, you can try a store again later.

On eBay, ALL new sellers have listing limits.  This is to protect the new kids from making major mistakes.  Subscribing to a store does not change those limits.

4.95 probably won't break you.

Try to sell some of your 5 items, every month.  Make sure every transaction is completed and shipped on time. No hiccups. No excuses.

Every month you can ask for your limits to be increased. It takes awhile to get your selling account rolling on eBay.

Good luck.

Thank you I am an EBayer for 20 years top rated seller but want to expand my ability to list at a discount also want the store to sell items that are not personal items sort of to keep the tax issues separate.

My other page is JLAPglobal57

You do realize that they will combine all of your accounts for the 1099K.

Having the two accounts, won't keep the tax issues separated.

Have a great day.

Re: opened a store but they are not letting me list more than 5 items

hi, I am experiencing the same thing. I have an account for 10 years, stopped selling temporarily during the pandemic, in seller overview it says I listed 98 items but only listed like 23 things. I don't understand it. Sorry this has happened to you too.

Did you hit the $ limit allowed on the account? Also, if a seller creates a listing and has a quantity of 10 available, it counts as 10 items.

@va_vintage

Seems like you may have a $1000 limit.

eBay treats "returning sellers" somewhat like "new sellers".  I guess it is because so much changes each year that returning sellers sometimes need as much "catch up" as do new sellers, and sometimes I suspect the reason is that dormant accounts are often hijacked, so caution is in order for the first month or two.

Be sure to ask for a limit increase every chance you get, although it might just happen automatically over time.

Hi,

Yes that's exactly what it was. I had one listing with like 69 available left on that one. So glad to realize this and edited the listing. Thanks 🙂

Cool that you have it working for you. When I came back to selling 5 years ago, I fought the item limit quite a bit and had to make quite a few adjustments as such.
