hi all, this is my first time revising an item through a file exchange upload. i only tested (1) item and i only changed the custom label. it came back with a report a few min's later and it shows 'success'. however, it has been about 4 hours now and the listing still hasnt changed to the revision. is this normal? if so, does anyone know how long it can take? if it is normal to take this long, i guess this feature isnt great for time sensitive qty revisions? or maybe that action gets done quicker?

The first "success" email refers to the file reaching File Exchange servers.
The File Exchange processing queue can be anywhere from minutes to an hour or more. I typically see 5 minutes processing times for my small jobs.
You will need to return to the File Exchange management page and download your "results" report to see if there were any errors within the file.
If the only thing you want to change is your custom label, then your upload file headers would look like this:
Action,ItemID,CustomLabel
Notice that there are no spaces in any of those headers and no quotes.
The spreadsheet with data might look like this:
Action,ItemID,CustomLabel
Revise,123456789012,"New product SKU"
Revise,345678901234,"Another new product SKU"

thanks for the reply! i actually had spaces in it (Item ID vs ItemID). so even though it showed 'success' with no errors, the file needed to be re-uploaded with the correct format. tip for the newbies like me: when downloading an active inventory file, if you choose format as 'standard', the headers will have spaces (ex: Item ID). this is because they assume you just want to read it or save it for your own records. but if you choose File Exchange, Revise Price and Quantity -- it will download in a manner that the headers (ex: ItemID) are ready for a quick upload.
