I've been listing numerous music CDs and movie blu-rays recently, and 90% of the time when I scan the UPC code, it returns "UPC not found" and thus doesn't prefill any information, so I have to manually enter specifics by hand.
Yet scanning the same UPC code into the buyer search bar returns numerous accurate listings.
I get that the buyer database and listing database are two different things, but seemingly there is ZERO attempt by eBay to improve the accuracy and comprehensiveness of its listing database, either on their own or through Terapeak. Many of the missing items are relatively recent consumer products, i.e., they're not so new as to be brand new for database inclusion, yet not old enough to be deemed obsolete data.
Since eBay either can't or won't improve the validity of its own data, are there any third-party tools/methods that will fill out an eBay seller listing from an external data source (Terapeak or otherwise) from a UPC code?

Ebay sellers have done their best to subvert the catalog concept which Amazon uses and Ebay has attempted to use.
I think Ebay has given up since the media items they attempted to use the catalog for have dropped in sales and as a portion of Ebay sales.
